Rob Zombie To Direct Halloween Sequel?

Band Photo: Rob Zombie (?)
Reports are coming in that French directors Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo have departed from the making of a second Halloween movie and that Rob Zombie, who directed the previous effort will be reprising his role as director. Whilst a representative for Rob Zombie refused to comment, Trancas International has stated that they will make an announcement regarding the movie sometime this week.

OMFG! I know post 3 is just being funny, but seriously Kanadian Korn, IT IS ROB ZOMBIE. Hellbilly era. I've said this on like two other Rob threads so far, and I'm pretty sure others have said it too in other ones. Not attacking you btw, cuz I know I sound sorta like I am, but I'm not, I'm just letting you know.

he hasnt had short in 25 years plus.
Who said this photo was recent?
And besides, if you look at the picture, why would the bass player have a microphone? As i recall, at one point, both blasko and Rob looked fairly similar, so it's easy to see why this confusion keeps popping up.
Whatever, deathbringer said he was gonna change this photo soon anyway for exactly this reason along with a couple other technical reasons as well, so this point will be moot soon enough anyway. :p

Diamond Oz- I think Halloween remake is a love/hate kind of thing- nothing in between. Personally I hated it, but alot of people did enjoy it.
I heard Wes Craven may remake his first movie The Last House on the Left (aka Grimm Company). I blame all the remastering/remaking on George Lucas. Even Dave Mustine got Lucas Syndrome, LOL!

Lol yes he did, I thought remaking A Toute Le Monde was so pointless. Ah well, at least I got to see and hear Cristina Scabbia ;)
I hope Craven doesn't remake Last House on the Left, I f***ing love that film. I know Nightmare on Elm Street is being remade though. Which is lame, to me, Robert Englund is Freddy, everyone else trying to play him can yank their c*** out their ass.

HEY! That's not Rob Zombie! :)
I enjoyed the Halloween remake, but then again I wasn't around when the original came out so it's kind of unfair to make a comparison. If you watch it now, having never seen it originally, it's really a big steaming pile of feces. Do a Google search on the ridiculous faces Jamie Lee makes in that movie for a good long hour of hilarity.
I think the same thing probably applies to Last House on the Left. I love horror movies, but I couldn't make it through that movie without laughing. It was Craven's first film and it was in the 70's so it has to be given some leeway, but the music was incredibly out of place in that movie, using lighthearted music in inappropriate places which made it all unintentionally humorous. (and not out of place music like Ravenous, but out of place music in a bad way) The terrible editing couldn't go without notice as well (a dead girl is clearly seen walking around after she's been murdered and this isn't a supernatural flick)
I didn't realize there was a Nightmare on Elm Street remake (although I did hear about the Hellraiser remake which is causing ripples because apparently it lacks Doug Bradley) but I'd be open to it. I showed the original to some family not too long ago I realized how that movie hasn't really aged gracefully. It could use a reboot, and if they get rid of the stupid comedy from the later ones it wouldn't hurt my feelings either.

There's also a new Friday the 13th movie oming out in February (on friday the 13th, marketting ploy? I think so!) but although it says it's a remake, the poster shows Jason in his hockey mask and as fans will tell you, Pamela Voorhees was the killer in the original, not Jason. Plus he didn't get his hockey mask until the third one. The poster is kind of cool but I found out it's directed by the same guy who did that piece of sh** remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre a few years ago. Remember that? No? Good. What I do know is Michael Bay is a producer both the new Friday the 13th and the remake of Elm Street.

Diamond Oz- Did you say Michael Bay? Anything with name attached is guaranteed to suck! Except for The Island, and that is only because of the lovely Scarlett Johanson. I didn't know they were trying to remake Elm Street. I may show up at the theaters with picket signs and calls for boycott!
I also think a poorly done Hllraiser remake may wake the dead.
XFiruath- You can't look at FHOTL with a Saw mentality. Just ask yourself, "What was I doing in 1971 when this movie was made?"

Well, as for remakes sucking..??
I will agree for the most part.... but there is one that I still feel is one of my favorite movies of all time... and that was the 80s remake of the 50s movie " The Thing " Kurt Russell was in it... for those that arent familiar with it...??
An excellent movie, with great special effects for its time.... Hell, its still a good movie today..!!

I think the snipe at Michael Bay that South Park slipped in on the "Imaginationland" episode really sums him up pretty well, so bad news all around if he's going to be involved. Could you imagine Freddy with huge explosions and 18 wheelers getting knocked over on freeways?
On the subject of remakes, I really don't understand why people don't like them. They don't remove the original from existence or prevent anyone from watching them. They also give a huge boost in interest of the original flick. Whenever a remake hits theaters the original movie is guaranteed to be rented out at any video store. It's a win/win, and if someone personally doesn't like the direction that the remake went, they don't have to watch it.

XFiruath- I do agree with you about it creating interest in the original material. That is one of the few positive aspects of the remake, in my opinion. Freddy with eighteen wheelers does sound like typical Michael Bay, LOL. I haven't seen the episode of South Park that you mentioned, I will have to check it out.
