USC Marching Band Plays Avenged Sevenfold's "Almost Easy" At Halftime

Band Photo: Avenged Sevenfold (?)
I'm not sure when this took place, but Avenged Sevenfold blogged about and posted a video of USC's marching band playing "Almost Easy" at a halftime show. Here's what the band posted:
"We have gotten some pretty cool shit over the years, but thanks for our fans for sending this to us! Check out the USC Marching Band doing our song 'Almost Easy' during their halftime show!"
You can watch the video below.

For some reason, your avatar is still Will from Mortician for me but it seems to be different from what BlindGreed is viewing. My computer is probably just slow updating itself.
That reminds me, i need to get an avatar!

A perfect example of that is my myspace page. It doen't list Slayer at all. *shakes his head in utter disgust* What the hell was I thinking?

The Jomvikings were a group of Viking mercenaries active during the 900's and 1000's. They were devoutly pagan, worshipping mainly Odin and Thor, but fought for anyone able to meet their price. Even working for Christian rulers at times.
There are many legendary tales and sagas told about them. I read Norse history and myth as a hobby. One of many.

btw - I was checkin out your photos on your "space" again .... damn girl you are huckin fot ;-)
Bg1- just left myspace and listened to Pinhed....the music is Ok...but Im definatly not a fan of those vocals....!!!
While listening to them, I got to thinkin.... Damn, I could save all the hassles of not having a singer if I just do the vocals myself... in that style.... Hell, Ive been smoking Marlboro reds since I was 14, and my voice is deep enough, that I wouldnt even have to strain to do it ;-)
I think I'll try it next time Im at my buddies jammin..!?!
116. writes:
godlike: Their music is pretty slamin though (I knew you wouldn't be a huge fan of the vocal style). John (guitar) can definately shred. By all means you should give it a shot man. It's all in the heart and you are the one that wrote the music, so who better to throw down a vocal track?

I got a ticket yesterday- for jaywalking! Got to go to court on January 16th- for f***in' jaywalking!
119. writes:
Bg1 - yeah, the music is good.... I just cant get into that vocal style..?!
But then again, I might just end up doing it myself... Hell, Ive actually kicked around the idea of buying a Digitech vocal processor.... those things can make anyone sound good...whether they actually sing or not..!!
123. writes:
godlike: I had one (I used it for the intro to Wordz), but it made a lot of line noise. Maybe the new ones are better.
Bruno: I tried to tell Kali that it works. You're welcome bro. lol. You are a fvcking criminal Bruno. Do you have any idea the ammount of crimes that are committed every day because kids got hooked on jaywalking? It's a gateway crime. lol.
124. writes:
Godlike- LOL at the p***y eating comment! It is ful-filling, but not filling, haha!
That One Guy- Dude that weather sucks. I am looking out the window of our office- bright sunny day with a forecasted high of 72 degrees. But on my end I am looking forward to when we get snow. I cannot snowboard without snow!
I knew you guys would share my resentment of the man and his problem with my jaywalking!

129. writes:
That One Guy- I hear ya, boarding is hard. I got lucky that my dad is a skier and started me when I was eight. When I was twelve I switched to boarding. If I had to learn now, I would probably give up.
BlindGreed- So true, so true. Now I got to take a morning off work and pay a fine and probably go to traffic school or whatever to get it off my driving record.

Bruno - Any cop thats p^ssed off enough to ticket a dude for jaywalking....shouldve stayed off the beat that day..!! Maybe they were out of his favorite donuts that morning..??
DAMN THE MAN I say..!!
Kali - I cant help it.... there's something about black that trips my trigger ;-)
Its my favorite too.... until there is a darker color invented , thats what I'll always wear.!!
Bg1- the processor is just a thought anyway.... perhaps I will give it a try..? Hell, it cant be any worse than NOT having any vocals at all..??

Kali- I know, right?
Well, the whole story is that I went out drinking Saturday night with a lady friend (took her car Blind Greed so I did not have to drive) in the downtown area. I left the bar at about 1:50 and walked across the street. When we got across I look up and two cops are sitting on their motorcycles about five feet away just waiting to f*** with anyone. They run my ID, I ran my mouth. I had no outstanding warrants so they felt obligated to punish me for my jaywalking. They could have given me a drunk in public, so I shut my mouth and remained seated on the curb. One of the cops comes back and says that the chick I was with had a warrant. They haul her in, and I am left stranded in a downtown area about 12 miles from my house. I frantically start looking for any bar patrons headed to my city. Luckily there was, and they gave me a ride.
139. writes:
Bruno - OK.... now that I know the whole story.....
Damn...what a f^cked up night..!?! The lady had an outstanding warrant... that sucks..!!
Many years ago, ('94 I think)... I was on a first/blind date with this chick.... everything was going great after a few hours into the night.... about midnight, we decide to walk across the street to another bar... as we get across the street, some chicks come walking out of the bar we are about to enter....they see the chick Im with and start hassling her.... Its our first date and I dont know her all that well.... so I just kinda step back to see what happens... within seconds... the one chick grabs my date by her hair, throws her down on the ground and just starts beating the hell out of her..... all I could do was say to myself.... "self, maybe this isnt the best chick to be dating..?"
After the fight, I took her home, cleaned her up.... and let her spend the rest of the weekend with me ;-)
Oddly enough, I didnt have more than a couple more dates with her...... but sadly, she ended up being the mother of my 13 yr old son..... lying b^tch told me she had her tubes tied..!!

godlike: You know what pi$$es me off? I have full custody of both my kids and my ex doesn't have to pay me a fvcking dime. This fvcking system is set up for women and only women. I took her to court over her non-payment of her child support and the judge said "She doesn't have enough money to pay you, so I'll wave the child support oder for her until she can afford to pay it". I'll bet you didn't get that kind of service from your judge did you? No, when it comes to men, either we pay or we go to jail and get our paychecks garnished. See... Now you got me started.

146. writes:
Kali: You have no idea. There's no such thing as a dead beat mom law. She will never have a job (on the books) so I will never see a fvcking dime. She thinks working is for suckers. Meanwhile my Gothic Queen and I bust our a$$es to make sure the kids have what they need. The system is broken...

The useless wench has done nothing but collect welfare and foodstamps since the boy was born.... oh yeah, besides sticking crank up her nose...!!
I didnt even know he was mine, until the state demanded DNA tests because they had to go after somebody to get some of their money back... right..??
Well, by the time they notify me and set up the tests, and then wait for the results, he was almost 4.... what does that mean..?? I was automatically over 13grand behind in child support..!! A hole that I still havent climbed out of..!!
And whats worse.... I tried going through the courts for joint custody, but was told by the judge that "if I didnt want to have anything to do with him the first 4 yrs of his life, why should I be part of his life now"..??
So, without having any say as to what happens.... she moves outta the area... and only just recently moved back into driving distance.... but by now, the kids head is so full of bullsh^t about me that he doesnt wanna have anything to do with me...!!
I do know enough about him, to know that he is a metal fan, and wants to learn how to play guitar someday....?? Perhaps that will be my way into his life at some point...??

Kali- Switching the radio stations on the boss- nice, LOL! It could always be worse though- the first two years I was with my company whenever I came into the office I had to sit next to a chick who was who deaf in one year. She listened to rap so I would come in at seven in the morning and there would be club music cranked up. It was agonizing. When she quit I wasn't as upset as some of the other employees.
Godlike- That sucks brother. I can't believe she lied about the tubes, that is beyond f***ed up!
BlindGreed- The worst part of that true statement is that happens in every state in the US. It is not limited to one area, the court always takes the female's side and usually the male's check does get garnished. In CA there is a really f***ed up law that if you have a child with a woman you have to pay for all of her kid's insurance, even if you are not the father of them all. I know a guy who had a kid with a woman when he was 19 and he covers the insurance on his kid as well the two subsequent children that followed years after they had broken up and stopped sleeping together. Most woman do not go after that, but legally they can.
152. writes:
godlike: Yep, I got the same thing going on with my ex. She has no money unless it comes down to another meth fix. Otherwise, it's a wellfare check every month. And who pay's for that? Yep. Working suckers just like you and me. If you're payin, you may as well pick up the axe and go spend some time with him. Obviously he took after you in some ways right? From what I understand from my daughters therapist, she can talk all the sh!t about you that she wants to but when it comes time for him, he'll decide whats true and whats BS.
Bruno: That is a jacked up law if I've ever heard one. He has to pay insurance for kids that aren't even his? I don't feel so bad now. Thanks... I needed that.
155. writes:
BlindGreed- No problem. When I heard about that I really felt bad for the guy because he and his current ol' lady have two kids together, so all said and done he has to cover five.
Godlike- Hell yeah, man your son will she through the lies and if you guys can connect with music than do all you can. My father plays guitar and bought me and my brother our first git-fiddles when we were about 12/13 or so and I can tell you it can bring a family together.
MyHeartBeatsnBkDowns- You may think BlindGreed is joking, but he is not. Cats were discussed last week or maybe the week before?

Wow, that just shows how deeply metal is in your veins godlike, as well as everything else lol. The kid has been raised to hate you, and he still ends up not only listening to the music you isten to, but also wanting to learn the guitar. I'm sure you'll be able to set the record straight with him at least at some point just for that fact. if he's really your son, he''ll have a fine-tuned bullsh** detector like his dad that just needs to be pointed in the right direction, so he can learn what really went down in the situation.
And yeah, blindgreed isnt kidding actually about the kitten thing. I actually remember Kali and Boltthrower having just such a conversation a few weeks ago. Seriously. In fact, I think Boltthrower's avatar is now a kitten. Go figure. :p

My sons 14th birthday is 4 days after my 40th in January... Ive already planned on setting him up with my 80s Charvel and my Line6 amp...! That should be a good start..!?
That is "if" he will want to see me.. if not, then I will tell him about his gift and he can decide if he wants it or not..??
Of course, I dont want to end up being "just a source for a new toy"..!!
yeah, the whole cat discussion was on the last a7x chatroom/thread...!!
161. writes:
godlike: I think that is an exellent beginning. You're smart enough to know if you're being played or not brother. I don't think it will play out like that though. Like I said, the boy is going to want to know where he comes from as he evolves into a man. Furthermore, he's probably sick of his mom's BS anyway! lol.

Awww shame to hear Godlike. I used to do some PR work for video game companies like Activision and Bioware so aside from music, gaming is my life. But yeah it's definitely not for everyone. As for it being a complete and utter waste of time that's arguable although I will agree that many hardcore gamers do waste away in front of their computers and never see the light of day, so touche.

MHBNB - actually, my opinion of games and gamers comes from my ol ladies 18 yr old son.... He has spent his life in front of either the TV or computer....thats all he does is play f^ckin games... and thats all she spends her money on, is games for him...
He has more games than the video rental place in town.. and that covers all types... PS2 and 3, XBOX and 360.... and Nintendo gamecube... plus there his $2500 laptop that he plays WOW on..!!
Any and I mean any game that he wants, she pre-orders, so he can have it the day its released... and its been that way for the last 8yrs..!! At last count, I think he has 150-200 games total...between all formats..!! The laziest f^ckin person I have ever seen...!!
As for the adults out there that enjoy playing games in their spare time.... hey, more power to ya..!! At least you have a life outside of the damn screen..!!

Yea stories like that are just so f*ckin sad. I have several friends that are the same way except they are in there mid-20s. Bottomline is though if you're able to turn your love for video games into something positive and actually make money either playing, designing, or promoting them as I have, then that's just a beautiful thing. But yea man there are a zillion and one gamers who lead these apathetical lives and it's pretty disconcerting but what are ya gonna do... :-/

Kali- Right on, makes sense. That is kind of how I am with Ozzy. I see him on TV and what not and cringe, but still love my Sabbath and my Blizzard...and No More Tears. Except with Ozzy it is not really hate, just sadness and a general "what the f***" kind of feeling.
Godlike/MyHeartBeats- If we are going to talk about video games, my two cents is that video games peaked with Playstation 1. After that the games became more like interactive movies than video games. I lost interest in about 1999, but would love to get my hands on an old Super Nintendo. Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Mega Man, etc

I have to wake up at 6 in the morn for work though, and it's 1 am already, so I feel kinda frustrated at myself for that one lmao. I'm not even tired.

me and my excuses. I'm just tired and want to go to sleep lol. Besides, It's impossible to hurt my feelings, I'm a man, we men don't have emotions, duh.
No seriously, I think I'm goin to take myself a four-hour nap real quick, so you better be here when I get back at 6 in the morn (2 AM in your time I think) so we chat some more! :p just kidding btw, don't stay up that late, it's bad for you, I should know, I'm already up at nearly 2 AM(haha, I live in the future). :D

I don't always smoke menthols, sometimes I just get a craving for one. Here in Iowa the governor passed a huge cigarette tax, so good cigarettes are $40 a carton or so. I go to the Indian reservation that's an hour away and buy cheap cigarettes that are only $18 a carton. And when I go, I buy enough for my wife and I to last a month. It works out, too, because I'm not picky about my cigarettes and I save a huge wad of cash...
367. writes:
TOG - WOW.... $18 a carton,...Damn that is cheaper than prices in Kentucky... Marlboros there are less than $3 a pack...
And Yes, that is Yoda with the squinty eyes and smoking a joint... I love it..... the picture cracks me up everytime I look at it..LOL Kinda fits huh..??

I just read the article about that 2700 yr old stash discovered in Chine.... hahaha "Ancient chinese secret huh."
Should that now be considered the "Stoned Age"... ?? LOL
----American neurologist Dr. Ethan B. Russo says the 789 grams of dried cannabis was found in a tomb in China's remote Xinjiang province, home to the Uyghur people who are Chinese Muslims. The region was in the news frequently in the months proceeding the Olympic Games over clashes between Uyghur people and the Chinese government.
Russo says the cannabis was clearly "cultivated for psychoactive purposes." The herb has endless uses, but in this case it was clearly not prepared to be used as clothing or as food.
This ancient batch of marijuana was reported to have a fairly high content of THC, the main ingredient in cannabis. They said however that the sample was too old to determine a precise percentage.
The marijuana is reportedly in very good condition and that is primarily attributed to extremely dry conditions. The team of scientists say the alkaline soil acted as a preservative, and the herb was still green, though it retained none of its typical odor.

uh.... smoking coffee... are you serious...?? That sounds nasty....!! But I can top it.....;-)
I was at a party once.. mustve been about 88-89, anyway, this guy was begging for someone to catch him a buzz.... he was kind of annoying and no one wanted to waste their herb on him.... So, just for sh^ts and giggles.... This one guy tells him that toe nails will get him wasted..... after a little coaxing and urging... the guy takes his shoes and socks off... trims a couple toe nails and stuffs em in his bowl and sparks it up..... HOLY F^CK.... that was the most obnoxious smell I have ever experienced..... Before he could even exhale all the smoke... he was bent over puking and crying.... And there was the rest of us... laughing our asses off and running out of the house to escape the smell.. Yuck... I can almost smell it now, just thinkin about it.... Damn that was nasty... but funny as hell..!!

Kali got it right. Godlike, how did I know you could top that? Here's a visual for ya: picture a bunch of teenage dumbasses sitting around with nothing to smoke. So they round up some coffee, bowl it up, light it and take a toke. The next thing is the worst pot face you will ever see, followed by a barely audible....."Harsh".
408. writes:
ap1 - LOL.... Now that is a funny visual ..!!
I remember a group of dumbass 14-15 yr olds, sitting around with nothing to smoke, and one says... "hey, I heard that corn silk will do the same thing as pot"... uh really ?.... "well lets try it"... So we went out to the neighbors garden.... tore apart a couple ears of corn, stripped the silk off, and proceeded to try an smoke it.... I think we all got about one hit and decided that was the dumbest thing we had ever seen anyone do.... until a few years later, when a guy decided to trim his toenails at a party. ..;-)
Kali - yeah the guy was dumb enough to try it.... and damn was it nasty..!!

410. writes:
Kali - The toenail guy...? Actually, Im not really sure...??
He moved to town and only lived there for a year or two....and then he moved outta the area within a year orso after that....
I dont know as that I ever seen him again.....Oddly enough tho....that "toenail guy" is a cousin to Hillary Swank (the actress ).... His dad and her mom are brother and sister..!!
And now after I think a little more about it.... the "toenail" incident mustve happened around 91-92.... cause I remember him telling us about his cousin being on the show "Evening Shade" with Burt Reynolds... and after doing a little research on the side, I see that she was on that show from 91-92...!!

Well, I had to pay him rent a tad later than usual, and he got angry at me for it. I had to take a draw on the 5th (of which by law is due at midnight that day) instead of me paying on the 1st. Since then he has been a total a$$hole to me! We have lived together for a year and two months, and this is the first time EVER I have had to pay in full on the 5th!

428. writes:
Might I also add that he has had roomates that NEVER paid him rent, even had one that was trying to offer him p***y in order to get out of it. I am the reason that my boyfriend isnt in jail, after his parents sold his house out from under him and even helped him move when we had only been together for less than a month!

Kali - truly sorry to hear that you an the ol man arent getting along..?? Im hoping that you can get it all worked out...... If not,... there is always the option.. that a few of us could come up to Washington and pay him a visit ;-)

Jenny - from the time I was about 14 through 26.... my hair was never shorter than passed my shoulders.... the belly button length was at its longest, that was in about 89 orso...!!
I cut it all off in the summer of 95 when it started getting really thin on the top... and by the early 00s, I started shaving my head bare.... anymore it isnt that uncommon of a look, so I dont feel so "out of place"...!!
Oddly enough, I didnt get my first tattoo until about 6 months after I cut off all my hair...
I guess all the ink makes up for my lack of hair ;-)
434. writes:
Godlike: Interesting history ya have there. I couldn't agree more with the tattoo statement! When I was little, one of the kinds of hair that I had was that nerdy 'coconut style' hair; kinda like what the members of The Beatles had LOL! I also had normal straight hair that went to my shoulders and my mommy would braid it. Now I have my hair down all the time and I can't stand having my hair going up past my shoulders.

Think of it this way, Kali. While you miss those people who have passed on before you, you are still in keeping with the Christmas spirit by keeping them close to your heart during that time. Sounds cheesy, I know, but think about it and it makes sense. Whether you celebrate the holiday or not, we should take this time to think of those we love, but always remember those we love who are no longer with us. We should try to do that every day, really. Better days are coming :)

AP: Mark Rizzo (Soulfly) is the lead man. Max did a pretty good job on rhythm guitar as well. Agreed. Good stuff man.
godlike: I like it. I'ts not my favorite, but I don't hate it. A friend of mine had a box set that was released in the early 90's and it had a lot of unreleased stuff on it. My favorite LS tune is one of those songs but it sucks because I don't remember the name of the damn song and I can't find the box set anywhere. In fact, I can't even remember the name of the set.
Kali: How yous doin?
