Yeah, I like the punk-influenced riff that comes in around 30 seconds into it. Reminds me more of that punk tribute album they did (been so long, I can't remember the name). But I like the main riff as well and the whole song.

I like it, it's nothing ground breaking, but as a friend of mine said about fifteen seconds ago "Good Ol' Slayer, they know how to rock!"

Yeah, there you go. I enjoyed that as much as much of their other material. Although it suits different moods than their newer matieral for sure.

Not even done listening to the song yet, but two things:
One: The song is f***ing awesome, i can already tell that I'm gonna love the new album.

Two: The quick bass line they let through near the one-minute mark made me giggle with delight like a giddy schoolgirl. f***in awesome.

Personally, I love the fact that it's the same ol Slayer. They've always stayed true to form. With all of the different directions we've all seen our favorite bands go over the last 20+ years (for better or worse), we have always been able to count on Slayer for sounding exactly what we listen to them for... Fvcking SLAYER!!! I loved Christ Illusion for the same reasons that I loved Divine and Reighn (and everything else for that matter). SLAYER... That's what I paid to see and hear time and time again and they've never made me regret one blood red cent.

Sounds pretty freaking awesome to me. Glad to see they stuck there guns for all these years. I actually thought Christ Illusion was there best cd since Seasons but thats just my insignificant opinion.

BoltThrower: Definately. I did some research on him back in college and he was a sickie for sure. Although the same could be said for most serial killers. Associating sexual satisfaction with homocidial acts definately shows a short in the wiring somewhere.

I've read a bit about these people. It seems like early ridicule bordering on abuse is a common theme.

And hasn't Slayer covered this same material before with 312, Dead Skin Mask, Gemini? Is it time for them to move on?

Yeah, I tried to remember some others but I lost interest in Slayer with Diabolus. It just didn't sound right. I think because it wasn't moshy anymore. I gave them another shot with God Hates Us All but I didn't care for that one either. So I think I'm done with Slayer unless this album sounds more like the early stuff.

BoltThrower: From what I understand, Henneman has a heavy hand in the writing this time around so that is at the very least encouraging. The guy almost single hadedly wrote Reighn in Blood, so that can't be too bad. I liked everything they have done to date including Diabolous (I think it's one of the most underrated albums of all time), but then again I have been a die hard fan since the 80's so my opinion is biased.

NP:Anticrust - SLAYER (lol).

I think what Slayer did with Killing Fields makes for a much better song. Rather than waxing poetic about the grisly details of any particular crime, it's a bit more abstract and focuses on the point in time when a decision is made to finally cross the line.
