Well, I still like em but even now, I'm still hearing people discuss the quality of the album on the radio and stuff. Overall, I say the music was pretty good. Good for Metallica ! Anybody can release an album but the consumers definitely make it hit the charts, however I can't really say that's because of who they are, but I dunno.

"Death Magnetic" also scored big around the world with No. 1 debuts Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, New Zealand, Norway (who sold more albums in 2 days than a week’s sales of a new U2 album), Poland, Portugal, Sweden (their biggest 1st week sales in 2008), and Turkey (which doesn’t have an official chart but the album was No. 1 on every retail chart).
F.A.N. ^That was off another article on the site, so I guess Metallica is doing well...

Metallica's latest studio album, "Death Magnetic" has remained in the number one spot in Austria, Switzerland, Sweden and Norway this week, aswell as debuting at number one in Greece. The album has taken a sharp drop in the U.K. charts however, going from first place to seventh. It has also dropped in the Republic Of Ireland to fifth place aswell as sinking slightly to second place in Germany, Holland, Italy, Portugal and the Belgian region of Flanders and lowering to third place in Denmark and Finland.
