Misfits Pull Out Of Motorhead Tour

Band Photo: Motorhead (?)
Just days after Aussie rockers Airbourne dropped off the forthcoming "Volcom Tour", The Misfits have announced that they too will not be taking part in the tour.
A statement from band leader Jerry Only reads:
"For the sake of our loyalty and dedication to all our fiends, the Misfits have chosen to withdraw from the lineup of Volcom’s 2008 tour. The Misfits have always held an incredibly high standard of performance and quality in everything we do. Our fans expect this and deserve it. I will not compromise their expectations for any amount of money, prestige or fame. I apologize for the inconvenience and will reschedule performances wherever possible throughout our upcoming tour this Oct.
- Jerry Only"

Saw Motorhead in KC on Sunday. Airbourne was supposed to play but apparently bailed. Not sure, because I was gambling in the casino while they played, but that's what people were saying. We got into the Voodoo Lounge just in time to catch the Misfits. They were pretty lame really and I was kind of hyped to see them. Dez Cadena and Robo (both ex Black Flag from real early years) were on guitar and drums. Jerry Only on bass. Just a bunch of noise.
Motorhead on the other hand were in great form. The sound was great, much better than when I saw them some years ago in NYC at Irving Plaza. They only played one song from the new album Motorizer, but delivered the goods on Killed by Death, Iron Fist, Metropolis, Ace of Spades, Overkill and other classics. If the tour continues, you really only want to see Motorhead anyway. Buy the new album, it's very good and go see them. Hell Lemmy is 62, how many more chances are you going to get.

Finally. A band whose loyalty to their fans and whose fan's loyalty to them means more than money.
