Ah... a chat thread with a decent band attached to it! This is much better! What is a good way to get this going? Maybe start with our favorite Carcass album? Mine is two; Necrotism and Swansong! The rest are awesome, but thoes two are what I would recommend to a person wanting to get to know Carcass.

I am more of a Thrash vocalist, but can do Death vocals. I have tried doing Black Metal vocals, but for women its very hard! I do want to keep up on trying to achieve Black Metal vocals and if I can do it start a female fronted Black Metal band. I also write awesome lyrics! If you want I will post myspace page that has two examples in it.
Do you play anything?

15. writes:
Nice!...yeah black metal vocals are difficult...atleast for me they are.
Sure It'll be cool to listen to your material.
As for me, i've been shredding guitar since i was 16...well that was like 3 years ago..not that long ago. You listen to black metal often?...
16. writes:
I have only lyrics on myspace, but if you use my e-mail addy kalis_wrath_666@hotmail.com, "Follow me" and "In Satan's emarace" are it.
My father tried teaching me guitiar, but when you have hands like a frikin carny it is impossible!
Black Metal is my passion! I get as much as I can when ever I can! Myspace lists my bands. :)
Do you have a favorite genre, Shredder? What drew you to the guitar and metal?

29. writes:
I'm guessing Riffmaster/shredder is a drummer? blah :b
Does anybody have a specific album by these f***ers to check out they would reccomend? I just download most of my music, so I just get bits and pices of Whatever, I have no way to relate to each album individually quality wise. All I have is a few songs here and there and all the songs on their myspace lol
Now Playing: Carcass- No Love Lost

On the vocals thing too, I myself have been singing so much in my Metal voice, that It's hard as hell to sound decent when I try to sing like a normal f***ing person now! Trying to get back the angelic-singing voice all my gals tell me I have is my main mission right now.
I've already climbed the milestone of Black/death vocals though. I had been singing along to DM and Lamb of God-ish metal for a while, perfectign my voice and all that rot, and once I started listening to BM, I tried THAT voice out...and it was actually easy as hell for some reason. I don't see myself in any BM bands in the near future though, but it'll be interesting to f*** around vocally in the future with it in whatever I end up doing...:p
Now Playing: Carcass- "Keep on Rotting In the Free World"

I would recommend "Necrotism (disenchanting the insalabrious)," "Swanson," "Heartwork," and "Symphonies of sickness" to get a good Carcass feel. All of their six albums are awesome though! Cant say I met a Carcass album I didnt love! "Wake up and smell the Carcass" is also an awesome dvd!
34. writes:
Figures, Carcass won't come anywhere near here.
Personally, my favorite Carcass album was "Heartwork". Jeff Walker's vocals are amazing and Mike Amott's guitar work impresses me so freakin' much. I wish I could play like that. I've been playing for 10 years and I'm just not that great.. my fingers are too stubby. As far as vocals go, I can make myself sound like Chris Barnes (Cannibal Corpse-era, NOT Six Feet Under) or Sven from Aborted. My real strength though is bass guitar.
36. writes:
If I have to choose one album I have to go with Heartwork. The song Heartwork is one of my all time favourite as is no love lost...well the whole freaking album. I think Swansong was the album that got them to where they wanted to go and that it is why they disbanded at the time. They pushed their sound as far as they could push it and didn't want to become repetitive.
Now destroying my ears : BTBAM : Alaska
On another note Kalis, my little daughter smiled today, it was her first little msile. she was awake and I was playing with her and she did that little sweet angelic smile. I melted so right now I am writing this from the freezer. My girlfriend put me in a mold so I could gel together again....

I mean I am Canadian thus part of the commonwealth, thus a friend, a brother, a brother in arms, we have the queen on our money, she comes here, we had Sir Paul Mccartney in Quebec City last week. C'mon man, it's me, Red !!! Canadian, commonwealth member...c'mon C'MOOOOOOOOOOOON
49. writes:

good evenin fellow metalheads..!!
I shall find some Carcass to listen to, at some point in the near future... but at the present time Im hearin some Vandenberg from somewhere around '83.(guitarist Adrian Vandenberg's first band)
Its been an eventful day around home... the ol ladies 18 yr old son left home for the first time... only for a week... at this time, the plan is to come back for the rest of his things next weekend...??
" just between us..." I dont see it lasting more than a month without mommy taking care of him..!!
Kalis_.. I hope your enjoyin the movie.... I will probably wait to see it at home...
Big screen TV+surround sound..and the ability to p^ss and have a smoke without missing any good parts= worth the wait.!!
Red_Chord - its kinda nice that your daughter smiled for the first time....but maybe that means she has good eye sight, and maybe your just goofy lookin..?
Vandenberg - Wait

^didn't I f***in tell you?! Most badass movie scene I've witnessed yet in cinema.
Why SO SERIOUS?!!? haha f***in awesome flick I've seen it twice and I like it even more now.
For me, the pencil part had the epic awesomeness of the Sparta kick from 300 and the shocking "I didnt see that coming" aspect of the Luke I am Your Father scene in star wars all rooled into one. It did that for me at least.
Look at me, I'm practically giddy as a schoolboy over this movie. I don't care it was f***tacular.
Now Playing: Monty Python- "I've Got A Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts"
60. writes:
OK... so Ive spent some time, listening to Carcass.... Ive heard Heartwork, No Love Lost, Keep on Rotting in the free world, Buried Dreams and a few others...... I think the music is great....but the vocals are definatly not my cup of tea..!! Im more of a fan of clean vocals....hence the reason Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant is my choice for greatest vocalist of ALL time..!!
Triumph - Allied Forces

You smoked your Avitiar Godlike! You see your profile is your baggie, and your posts your joints. *LOL*

Kali..
Wacken was started by germans as a local gig for homegrown talent.. nearly 290 years on it urinates over ozzfest.
Europe has all the best fests.. Furyfest, Wacken Metalcamp Inferno Bloodstock hole in the sky tuska ect...
ozzfest is the same gig rolled out to every state a few times a year.. the above are all one offs, it makes people get off their collectives and actually plan holidays to go to them rather than wait for the tour to roll into town.
last year i met a few new yorkers that had travelled to europe to do brutal truth gigs in slovenia, furyfest in paris and finish up with Wacken.. told me they had been planning it for 2 years.
83. writes:
Hey Jackrum, you actually got me hooked with your story. I tried to fond the boring part but it seemed all fun to me...
Hey Kalis, my daughter did a fireman on me...but instead of extinguishing the fire she made me change my shirt...she looked pretty happy about it.
87. writes:
So, you all should know the famose "Do, re, me, fa, so, la, te, do" song you probably sang it in Elementry school and mid school choir class. I re-wrote it! Hehe! May tweak it, but here goes;
Do, the thing I really need!
Re, the man I owe it to...
Me, I run from the police!
Fa, a long, long way I run!
So, I ecape fa away...
La, I say in Mexico!
Do, I still owe to Re and he is still in pursuit!

She sniffs elmers glue I'm guessing, that's the only time I myself have been that off-the-rocker, so i can only ssume that is what is being abused here. That sh** makes you go f'in bonkers. Shooting up on pure maple syrup is also a crazy trip sometimes, but it can ruin your life, so try and stick with the glue I say.
Now Playing: The guitar- "that thing I suck at"
92. writes:
Well since I am from Canada, shooting maple syrup is a way of life we have learned since birth. It is actually a rite of passage from childhood to adulthood. In the trip you encounter your elders and they tell you the secrets of good defence playing hockey, how to correctly body check, how to say he ? at the end of a phrase and how important it is that the letter z is not pronounce zee but zed...

I have to admit that sending all the whores, prisoners, tards and the likes was a pretty good plan. using Australia as an outdoor prison was great too.
Hey f*** a Name, curling is not a sport ? I agree, it's more like ice cleaning and yelling. It's boring as f***. but up here in Quebec it's not really popular at all. So I don't feel bad. but I'd rather stay here than the States because you crazy gun loving people shoot everything all the time LOL. And of course there is W.Bush that doesn't help at all.
106. writes:
Well depends on what fun it is for you. Jesus doesn't play poker with me but we go around and have great philosophical talks. And in the end he won't screw me up for my soul, he'll give me a good place to crash and chill, better than a place where you are forlorn.
108. writes:
Off topic - but Kalis - check out Equilibrium with Christian Bale ...it is totally bad A$$...
That movie was sick! Great action scenes and good storyline. Yes - I found out the Amott brothers through Arch Enemy which lead me delightfully to Carcass. Great band! Nice riffs...I didn't realize that the band hails from England..because Amott is Swedish.
120. writes:
O.k. My brain is offically fried like a chicken from work! Glad to be off work on what was supposed to BE my day off! It was crazy too! It was lets-rearange-all-the-big-furniture-day last minute!
Jackrum, you taking off Thursday?
Red, ya might consider wearing a hazmat suit to change the diapers! *LOL*
125. writes:
Off to the SLipknot mayhem(Ozzfest lookalike) concert tomorrow morning. Sure, the bands are sh**tier than the Ozzfest lin-up last year i went to, bu this time I'll be drunk the whole time, so it evens out.
Godamnit it's not Wacken, but I still can' think of anything better to do with my time than to fight people for 8 hours straight while listening to people yelling on a stage. :D
Now Playing: "A Pirate's life for me"
128. writes:
Kali, taking off at 0630 GMt tomorrow morning.. so in less than 24 hours i'll be in germany setting up camp and staking a claim at the beer tent.
it would probably be bloody difficult to set up a one off 3 day event in America, most people would probably stay at home and wait for sharon osbournes rolling tour to arrive at their nearest city rather than travel across the country, lazy b****ds that they are.
even so it would probably go down really really well for those that did turn up. plus bands can add it as a date on their american tour, and bands would have to come up with a decent set rather than play the same songs gig after gig after gig on the ozzy tour.
129. writes:
there is a tour coming up in Indiana I believe with like 60 bands I plan on going to if possible. Have to road-trip the motherf***er out of that sh**. Sort of a Wacken trip test-run? As it is, all i get are Ozzfest and the occasional 3 or 4 band concerts, Because I am NOT going to the Warped tour; f*** that sh**.
130. writes:
Kalis, my girl is not really into typing sh** on me tal sites but she likes to read it when I get into a fake feud with someone because she hears me laugh my a$$ out and she wants to know what's so funny. For example on the metallica thread (about death pathetik album cover) I was in a feud with ZT and FUIAMMETAL. She was reading it because I was laughing so hard. Especially when she was reading FU's post that said I was a 12 year old in my parent's basement. She was laughing and she said : he could not be that far from the truth.
But it's over with ZT and FU by the way, we had fun but we moved on because we now agree on another subject and really they are cool dudes.
