Metallica Strikes Deal With Guitar Hero

Band Photo: Metallica (?)
Metallica is now officially on board for the popular game Guitar Hero. However, it is not the expected deal of their own version of the game. Instead, gamers will be able to download the bands entire forthcoming album, "Death Magnetic," to play on Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero: World Tour. What will no doubt anger many gamers however is that this deal is exclusive to the XBox 360 console.
Metallica themselves have posted the following message on their official website:
"Death Magnetic," the entire album, available for Guitar Hero too! It's a first in both music and gaming . . . the same day that "Death Magnetic" hits the streets, you'll be able to download every song from the album for Guitar Hero III! We are so psyched that we'll be the first out of the gate with this simultaneous release . . . who knows, maybe a few years from now this will be the norm when your favorite band's new record comes out.
And for those of you who are anxiously awaiting the next Guitar Hero, World Tour, we're ready for that too . . . you will be able to experience Death Magnetic for drums, vocals, and guitar when that game emerges this fall.
Keep watching here for the where, when, and how stuff..."

That last post is proof that there are people on this forum with no serious intelligence what-so-ever, regarding heavy metal. Yeah Master of Puppets sounds like the intro to Enter Sandman, yeah thats a good call. Try looking at it from an objective stand point, even if you don't like them. You have to admit, that their songs were diverse and unique. You also have to admit they are one of the legends of metal, and always will be weather you like it or not. Thats just the simple truth. No argument can change that, no words can change that, nothing can. So don't even bother to respond, if you do respond the only thing you can do is throw cheap shots at me maybe. There is absolutely no denying Metallica's place in history, and their influence on the genre. Any logical metal head knows that. p***s.

I'm okay with it only being on Xbox! haha I don't have a PS3 anyway. Works for me!
And Jamez, Slayer has already been on Guitar Hero. I'm sure fans would like having more songs on their. I guess, technically, they hopped on the bandwagon for Guitar Hero 3. It's also not pathetic at all to willingly put your songs on a video game. They DO have to make money. This is their career, so why not do it? Record sales are hard to come by nowadays. Licensing music to movies, tv, games, etc. are the ways to make easy money.

Oh thank the LORD!!! Oh boy! Now I can get sleep at night! I don't know I would have ever survived had Metallica not sold their songs(Im sensing a pattern with them) to be dumbed down to five different colors on a peice o crap plastic Thailand-made toy that will enable millions of stupid little children (who, btw probably think Metallica is EXTREME and Br00t4l) to think that they are somehow(and I hate this term) rockstars.
Im loosing sleep, actually.

I have to ask the question. How are Metallica NOT rockstars? Honestly. Even people who don't listen to metal know who they are and they are metal legends, even if their newer material has been going downhill. I may get flamed for that comment but I want some serious opinions on this. I think they are "rockstars," if we're going to use that term.

And what's wrong with kids having Metallica toys? Does it matter if they think that they're EXTREME and Br00t4l, as you put it? I think if little kids are into Metallica then it'll get them into different metal bands, evolving their taste in metal. I know Metallica was a bridge for me getting into metal when I was younger.

Metallica are indeed rockstars. I heard it started when James Hetfield got through with standing in line to clubs he'd never get in, which is like the bottom of the ninth, and felt he was never gonna win. Perhaps his life hadn't turned out quite the way he wanted to be? That's when he decided he wanted a brand new house on an episode of cribs and a bathroom he could play baseball in and a kingsize tub big enough for ten and him! Aswell as a credit card that's got no limit and big black jet with a bedroom in it so he could join the mile high club at 37,000 feet. Plus a new tour bus full of old guitars AND his own star on Hollywood boulevard (somewhere between Cher and James Dean was fine for him). So he thought he'd trade his life for fortune and fame, he even cut his hair and changed his name. 'Cause he just wanted to be a big rockstar living in a hilltop house and driving 15 cars.
Proof. Metallica - Rockstars

Diamond Oz, youre an a$$hole lol
I guess after a while he just decided to sing those songs that offend the censors, but now he pops his pills froma pez dispenser. Now he just hires washed up singers to write all his songs, and lipsyncs em every night so he won't get em wrong.
What a shame. The lfe of a rockstar. tsk tsk.
lol

Eh. I think the game is cool and its a way for a lot of kids to hear bands they may have never. Lame however that Metallica made it exclusive to Microsoft. I would have much rather seem the "highly expected" Metallica version of guitar heroes. I would actually like to see those from all bands. You have to remember after all "it was good to be a kid with an idol and an air guitar".
