Poison Singer Responds To Def Leppard Vocalist

Band Photo: Poison (?)
Blabbermouth.net reports: Poison singer Bret Michaels was recently questioned at a festival in Sweden about what he made of comments made by Def Leppard singer Joe Elliot regarding glam rock bands of the 80s. Here's what he had to say:
"Well, I didn't hear the comment, but I can say this: all I do is I sit around and play music and do stuff [related to music]," Bret replied. "I know DEF LEPPARD, for some reason, they get a kick out of wanting to knock every band. My thing in life is not about knocking any music. I mean, obviously, I'm saying this for POISON, we have not sold out, and continuously, for 20 years every arena because we care about just our appearance. The music comes first. You've gotta like 'Talk Dirty to Me' and 'Nothing but a Good Time'. And if I'm gonna go out on stage and put on a good show and play… First of all, that band [DEF LEPPARD] shouldn't be knocking anyone about their music since they just did a show called 'Dancing with the Stars' in the U.S. and they got crucified because they fucking lip-synched the entire show, so before they bust anyone's balls, I've never lip-synched a fucking thing in my life — ever! That's what makes it so funny for me, because why would you wanna bust anyone's balls? It's all of us trying to make music and do it together, and I think if you crucify somebody, it's like the pot calling the kettle black. But I have nothing against them — I like their music, and I'm sorry they feel that way. I don't wanna put HANOI ROCKS down — I know a couple of their songs, and they're really good music — but I think POISON, when you see tonight when we play, there's nothing… You walk around our stage — there's nothing behind. Everyone's out there singing and playing. For better or for worse, it's all real."

His drumkit is setup with a combination of several different foot pedals... which in all honesty is quite admirable as far as Im concerned... how many other drummers would've given up with the loss of an arm..??
It still doesnt make me like any of Def Leppards music after 1985.. and Ive never liked Poison... that guitarist is f^ckin joke..!!

Amazeingly enough Brett's got a point.POISON are the same band they've allway's been.Def Leppard changed their style almost drastically between Pyromania and whatever it was they did after that.I don't like POISON but it's sad when they can make legend's like D,L, look like a spoiled child.Really SAD!!!!!

I don't care about either band, I think it's a bit funny comment coming from Elliot, since Def Leppard pretty much was a british Glam Rock band in the 80s. But, I agree with Bret, Elliot has the habit of going around making stupid comments. Still... gotta respect Def Leppard. They stuck with their drummer even after the accident. Try to find another band in the current music scene who'd do that

You may have a point.Def Leppard is arguably where the L.A. Hair METAL scene started when you think about it.They definitley qualfy as a major influence just as much as anybody els.Joe's statement was alot like when Pam Anderson called Jessica Simpson a slut.Or in other word's Pot meet Kettle.

YES SHE DID !!!!!!!
Apparently she was on some radio talk show in Australia promoting her appearance on their version of celebrity Big Brother.Talk about denial.
Yeah I've seen Def Leppard live & they put on a good show no doubt. But them dissing Hair Metal is alot like Perez Hilton calling Rob Halford a fag.

Hello, no again wrong, because if the drummer had both arms it be 5X2=10 and since he lost his arm it'd be 10-1=9. So yeah. And Def Leppard is the best band, f*** you all that do not like them. Joe Elliott knows what he is talking about. Bastads, and it just means Rick Allen is a better drummer if he can play with one arm. Poison, and Motley Crue, their jokes. f*** that, Bret Michaels is a f***ing whore and he does not know sh**.

LOL to post 34! N.E. ways, Def Lep. does have a place in history when they HAD good tunes, their new stuff just doesn't cut it though. Brett has a point about not being any different, as long as they're real like they were in the era THEY came from. I respect that. As for DL, the drummer is talented, it's just sad that that the entire band zoomed downhill! Total truth.

Def Leppard is stale-haven't made a decent album since Hysteria...and the tour with the lamest bands: Journey, Styx, REO SPEEDWAGON? F**KIN' BRYAN ADAMS??!!
I saw them 3 years ago and they were good, but, they are no better than Poison, Slaughter, or any other Pop Hard Rock from the 80s. Where the Def's additude has come from all of a sudden, with nothing to back it up with, is a wonder. It's not like they just released a #1 album or anything....their new cd has done mediocre--it did hit the top 40 but...They need to just shut up before they annoy the fans they have with insulting and trying to turn their back on the music genre they are apart of--wheather they like it or not...

I HATE POISON. BUT I BET BRETT MICHEALS MIGHT BE ABLE TO SING A LITTLE. JOE ELLIOT CAN'T EVEN HOLD VINCE NEILS JOCK ON STAGE.
