At The Gates Posts US Tour Update

Band Photo: Municipal Waste (?)
At The Gates has posted the first of their US tour diary entries from their US tour with Darkest Hour, Municipal Waste and Toxic Holocaust:
"We arrived this Tuesday in New York. I (Anders) got in to JFK and took the bus across town to meet the other guys @ Newark airport.
"Our sound engineer Bo missed his connecting flight out of Amsterdam, and on top of that his bag was a.w.o.l upon arrival in JFK. And if that wasn't enough, he got an ear infection resulting in high fever, massive pain & distorted mono hearing. He seemed slightly better today. Got his bag from the airport and everything, but he's still feeling pretty shit.
"The first two gigs at Irving plaza were amazing. It was great to see the other bands on the bill enjoying some great crowd response, It was my (Tomas) impression that all bands have had really good gigs so far. The first gig was without AC, so it was like 120 degrees on stage :/
"We are enjoying this tour a lot so far, and it's amazing to see the crowd response after 12 years of silence. Thanks to all the people coming out and making this a special event."
You can check out some photos from the tour on At The Gates' MySpace blog as well.

I was at the show at the Palladium in Worcester. It absolutely destroyed all. Toxic Holocaust and Municipal Waste brought an unbelievable thrash-attack. And then At the Gates came onstage after about 13 years of absence and proved why they are/were one of the pioneering bands of the Gothenburg/Melo-Death sound. Will probably never see them live again, but we always have The Haunted and Disfear to look forward to touring.
