Scott Weiland A Mess At Music Festival

Band Photo: Velvet Revolver (?)
Tunelab Music reports that Stone Temple Pilots front-man Scott Weiland appeared thinner than normal, confused, and mumbling to the crowd in Holmdel, New Jersey on Saturday night May, 31st. Weiland noted that this was a hometown show for half of the band, the brothers Robert and Dean DeLeo, who play bass and guitar. “Sometimes you make crazy choices,” Weiland said, in a distinctly undefiant tone.”I apologize for …” he started to add. “Apology accepted, brother,” Robert DeLeo said quickly, changing the subject and hustling on with the show.
Fans have reported that it took the band over an hour just to hit the stage after it was setup for them.
Check out a few pictures here and here as well as video footage of the incident below.

Saw STP this past tuesday in detroit. The put on a really good show, wieland sounded great and the band sounded great in general. It was weird being at a non-metal show but still a good show in all. Weiland sounded a lot better than he looked tho that is for sure!

N E one who thinks Scott is heathy is crazy. He clearly has something going on since he's been back on tour. My heart goes out to him. Addiction is a b****! I've been struggling with "only" alcoholism and it's about impossible to stay away from wine. That's all I drink.

I really feel that Scott bouncing from one band, to rehab, then another band to tour was not the best choice to make in his life. I wouldn't be surprised if this tour is cut short cuase of what he's doing to himself. Be pathetic if he becomes another rockstar dead druggie statistic!

You know, I feel sorry for the rest of the band. It's a very irritating thing when you alter your life to accommodate bandmates that are like this. I was in a lame punk band with a lead singer that thought he was David Lee Roth. Big-time cokehead. And when he stumbled, he brought the whole band with him, and this guy never even came to practices on a regular basis. Frontmen like this assume that since all they do is sing, they don't have to worry about keeping their focus and not losing their edge. Like they get the easy job so they can fvck off with everyone else in the band's valuable time. Weiland may have accepted his job as a f***ing modern circus freak, but the rest of his band, a group of fairly talented musicians, shouldn't have to.
It's like that scrubby guy from the Libertines. What happened to him? Coke, heroin, whatever, now his band, which wasn't too horrible in comparison, is pretty much vapor.
It's a sad thing when ego overtakes ability. Potential is wasted and momentum is sacrificed. They should fire him.
...and on a side note, how bad is it when guns and goddamned roses kicks you out of velvet revolver becuase of your drug problem?
