British metallers Sikth have posted the following message:

"It deeply saddens the four of us to announce that we are closing the book on SIKTH... it's time to split up. A combination of factors have driven us to make this decision.

"We want to assure you that if it were viable for us to carry on - we would

"We are so proud of all that we have achieved as Sikth and we have agreed to work together again in the future.

"We are currently involved in new projects so keep checking our personal pages for announcements.

"And finally, we owe such huge and sincere thanks to all of you for listening to our music and enabling us to live our dream. We know we have left you in the dark lately and we are sorry for that.

"Your loyalty will never be forgotten.

Dan, James, Dan, Pin."

That really sucks. These guys were at least out there making something somewhat different. I enjoyed them.

glad i got the chance to see them live twice...it was enevitable after the singers left that they would never find suitable replacements

I saw them play with Pat Benatar and Fleetwood Mac in 1987. Good show.

No, it was these guys, Stryper, and that band about the hearing-impaired feline. Deaf Leopard.

And Foreigner.

This f***ing sucks! I was pretty skeptical about them finding brand new singers after the two originals left, but I still had a bit of hope that they would be able to find someone. But I guess not... son of a b****. I hear the guitarist has a side project though, but I'm not quite sure of the name.

xSTEPxOFFx and xXmoveXcrewX517Xx are seriously on drugs. You clearly wouldn't know real talent if it jumped on your lap and gave you head. Take your heads out of your a$$es and get a f**king life.

Sikth's two releases were the first two important metal albums since Chaosphere. I will greatly miss them and am deply sadened by the loss.
