and i partially agree with the overlook on trivium.......ascendancy was THE SH**........the crusade blew donkey balls, i was very very dissapointed. I was a die-hard fan and then crusade hit and i cant feel the same for them anymore. it was like the worst thing metallica never done. i couldnt stand it. if trivium could pull off an all out ascendancy set with a couple ember to inferno songs i would love to go.....but they wont

I honestly don't care why Slayer has been touring with sh** musicians, what matters is that regardless, Slayer is always awesome.
Lets not forget that Slayer did tour with Manson. But at least Manson had the sense to finish each show so the real metalheads didn't have to sit thru his sh** album after Slayer.
And again, I honestly don't care who Slayer tours with, Slayer is Slayer, thats enough for anyone to go for. And I'm not doubting that Trivium is metal, but they're just Metallica-Lite. And Mastodon isn't even Metal, they're Hard Rock.

13. writes:
Mastodon are brilliant musicians, some say weird some say Hard Rock, whatever, they have my approval all the way... Their originality is undeniable, they are in a genre of their own and classifying them under Hard Rock would be stupidity, as FistF ucker pointed out....
As for Trivium, well it's not comforting knowing they're opening for the almighty SLAYER, but hey, at least the headliner would be worth the cost of the ticket, and then some, alone...

Dude, Slayer always has sh**ty bands opening for them, like last year they had Bleeding Through and Manson on tour with them. Seriously man, Bleeding Through, quite possibly the worst metalcore band I've ever heard. So it doesn't surprise me at all that they've got some bullsh** band like Trivium on tour with them, figures.

23. writes:
do they insist on bringin those trendy mallcore bands on tour when they actually can have real, extreme, untrendy and successful bands supporting them? Yeah, i'm talking about Testament, Exodus, Nile, f***in' Overkill, hell... even smaller bands (but f***in' quality acts) like Suffocation, Vader, etc. Does it have to be ALL about the money? I thought they had awakened from the dream about gaining fans by having gay and trendy bands playing with you. Slayer should get some proper Thrash bands to tour with them.

25. writes:
Lady-Reaper, you bring up a good point but I mean it is Slayer. They could book Hannah Montana as their opening act and still have a full crowd of black clad metalheads ready to slay. I'm not sure its money fueling them booking Trivium and bands of their ilk but maybe just being senile because they don't want to take a risk of fans coming for a band other than them.

26. writes:
f*** Slayer, f*** Trivium.
This should be Mastodon's tour. They're the only band out of those three with anything interesting worth listening to. Maybe if it was 1989, Slayer'd be awesome, but them motherfxckers are stuck on stupid. At least that's what it sounds like since they've made Divine Intervention 7 or 8 times over.
And Trivium? We've got enough sh**ty Metallica albums on our hands without these trendy morons making a ton more.

I think Kalis has it right...
Slayer, as awesome as they are blah blah blah, are f***in a$$holes through and through. They toured with Marilyn f***in Manson for christ's sake. Honestly, the only thing more offensive to a Slayer fan WOULD have to be Hannah Montana lol. I think Slayer just books bands it's fans would throw sh** at, just so that when Slayer themselves come on stage, they are that much more loved.

if i was in that mosh pit, and saw those retarded pop fans i tear them up, leave them on their backs, i hate pop, the only reason why miley cyrus is famous is because she has a stupidly famous father, anyway back on subject, slayer rules i have every album of theirs, except live aggression, which i never buy live albums anyway, i also have a KKV, which i'm tricking out with the kfk set, i've had that for awhile, last i need a fernanes sustainer, like i said for those that do and don't know me on this site is that i'm an upcoming artist, when i get my equipment, anyway i may have never been to a slayer concert, always wanted to go, i'm a very devoted, metalhead, and couple of years back slayer, was my inspiration, because, that was one of the bands that made me want to be an artist, a guitarist, i compare myself to alot of artists, i label myself superior than most, yes i think i'm better than most, but i don't say anything, because i don't ever want to make enemies, but i keep in mind, even if we all strive to be the best theres 6 1/2 billion people in this world, and theres someone who is always better, anyway why can't slayer tour with someone like, benediction, holy moses, napalm death, obituary, deicide, nile, autopsy, or cryptopsy, something metal and brutal, hopefully better than trivium, or mastodon, so it would be better, i mean slayer is unholy and brutal, why can't they have an all satanic metalfest, yes i'm talking about the unholy alliance tour, i mean if it's unholy, i has to be satanic maybe at least, gory, or about anything or any other religion, as long as it's unholy, and brutal i would want to go, remember asides from being a fan, if you want to go in the music business, you have to decide do you want to be a leader or follower, i choose leader, i'm in a band that's coming up, and when it's ready, i plan to help lead metal up to the top, where it belongs, and crush this retarded emo, and pop bullsh*t

35. writes:
i'm with you on crushing the retarded emo and pop bullsh**...
but did metal every really die? ya maybe in mainstrem but metal still is a big popualr genre in most area's. maybe not as reconized in radio, tv and all that other bullsh** but here in the underground its just as big as ever. and maybe not noticialbe but us metal fans are mostly loyal and devoted unlike the pop and rap fans that move on from one artist to the next after 5 - 10 years. (unless they pull a Metallica)
but i do agree with most you said....and hope the best for you and your band.

36. writes:
thanks, i'm glad metal is still alive, i knew it was underground but, i would like to bring us to the surface, however i don't want to be mainstream, since mainstream mostly sucks, i want to be popular, and recognized, fans like you said Pot, in the metal scene are the most loyal that's true, what would help alot of bands get a start i think if they have some songs, go local, or cross country if you can, and book up the radio stations, that's a start, metal once was the most popular music in the world, and i want it that way, to show the world, that when we come on top, in music in the underground, like most metal bands, that we are a force in the music business to be dealt with, may the underground live forever, in the bands names, in our names, the fans, and mine

this was the best tour line up ever, and years later europe ruins slayers mind and tells them to put trivium on the tour.
