Sebastian Bach Denies Velvet Revolver Rumours

Former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach says he isn't in any hurry to join rock supergroup Velvet Revolver.
In an interview with on the The Buckethead Show on American radio station Tampa 98 Rock yesterday, the singer said he would find it "really awkward" joining VR.
"I've talked to Slash recently and I think it'd be really awkward for me to join that band," said bach. "Number one, my new record, Angel Down, I like it more than Velvet Revolver records. That's just being totally honest. I love Guns N' Roses' material, but I've got my own old songs - Skid Row - so for me, it would all depend on music. I wouldn't just join the band just to join the band."
However, Bach's not totally ruling out ever stepping into departed frontman Scott Weiland's shoes... Well, maybe not.
"If we came up with some incredible new songs, then maybe I'd think about it," he revealed. "But honestly, I'm very close friends with [Guns N' Roses frontman] Axl [Rose], and he sings three songs on my new record. Axl's been so nice to me - he's helped me out my whole career. In Skid Row he helped us out, and in my solo band he brought me around the world, and then sang three songs on my new CD, which is pretty mind-blowing.
"I don't know... It's a cut-throat business, but Axl's been so nice to me, I don't think I would feel comfortable just joining Velvet Revolver and singing his songs every night. So I don't think that's gonna happen."

Yeah I have to agree with ya Oz, that is the only "reality"show I even cared to watch and I actually enjoyed it a little too... It was quite humorous to watch Sebastian Bach make an idiot out of himself..!! I always liked his voice and stage presence etc...but after watching that show, I lost all respect for the guy....
It was a shame that Jason Bonham wasnt shown more and have more camera time though... he seems like he is kind of a quiet and subdued chap.... perhaps he was just annoyed with Sebastian too..!! It certainly seemed like ol uncle Ted became frustrated over the course of that little time he spent with Bach...hahaha..!!

Definitely. I remember I saw Ted Nugent in June 2006 about a month before Supergroup came on telly (in the UK anyway, dunno about the rest of the world) and he was completely focused on rocking out. A month later I saw Baz opening for GNR and he wouldn't stop talking about Supergroup, what day it starts, what time, who else was on it blah blah blah blah blah! And after watching I couldn't help but think, "And you wanted people to see you act like this WHY?!" It is pretty entertaining though and I agree, Jason Bonham is a legend that needed some more time. I also noticed Scott Ian kept to himself a fair bit.
Now playing: Denis Leary- I'm An a$$hole

Ive seen Ted Nugent a half dozen times over the years..(first time way back in 81) ..and Ive never seen him stray from putting on a great show... like him or hate him...the man is insane onstage..!!
I think Scott Ian was too caught up in the fact that he was that close to Ted Nugent...hahaha..
It was funny to see him act like a kid meeting his favorite super hero..!!
As for Jason Bonham... I have about every Cd that he has been a part of...all the way back to his debut with a band called Airrace when he was 17... the guy is a class act if you ask me.. I dont know as that I have ever heard a bad word spoken about him..!!
Im an A$$hole...what a great tune....Dennis Leary is hilarious..!!!
another funny bastard Ive been watching alot of lately is Jim Jeffries.... ever seen him.?? His talk of his trip to Amsterdam is fantastic... I had tears in my eyes through that 10min story..!! Its on youtube..check it out if ya havent seen him...!

Lol yeah, was kinda nice to see that though since I think it's something we'd all like to do someday, jam with our heroes.
Nice. I'll have to check Airrace out then.
True that. Leary is goddam hilarious. The only thing that bothers me when you tell someone you like him is when they bring up the Bill Hicks plagurism thing. Who cares really?
Nah I haven't heard of Jim Jeffries. I'll have to check him out. I saw an American comedian on Have I Got News For You the other day. I forget his name now, Reginald D. something but he was bloody hilarious!

well, I'll wish ya luck findin any Airrace... once in awhile there is a copy of the disc on Ebay now that its been reissued...but then again...perhaps it would be easier to find over your way...They were from over on your side of the pond to begin with...!!
Its definatly not metal ....kinda like what Foriegner sounded like in the 80s... kinda mellow...but its still Jason Bonham when he was a kid...!!
Yes, I truly insist that you check out this Jim Jeffries character.. there are a few videos on Youtube.. but the one Im referring to, is the only one that is over 9 min long... I just watched it again...and my cheeks hurt from laughing... phenominal story teller...ha..!!
yeah I hate the comparisons between Hicks and Leary.... Hell, there are several comedians over the years that have used the same material.... it all gets laughs so I say f^ck em...!!
another great tune... thats on of my favorite Nugent albums... If I remember correctly..thats from his debut...along with Snakeskin Cowboys and Hey Baby...??
I think my favorite Nugent album is Free for All...with Meatloaf on vocals..(Scott Ians father-in-law)

Cool. I'll keep an eye out for it at least.
I know. Comedians are there to make you laugh. I don't see why it should matter if they tell the same joke as someone else.
I'm not sure what album it's from to be honest. I've only got the Ultimate Ted Nugent cd.

Like I saide I think he would be a good fit.But it's probably not gonna happen.I've met Bas before & he's a likeable guy but yeah he's a jack ass.Angel Down is not a bad album.(I hated back in the saddle with Axl.)It just get's a bit repetitive & in a couple of cases cliche. But at the end of the day Bas probably owes a good chunk of his longevity to Axl.

I always thought that Baz had a great voice. One of the best ever in rock. But it doesn't work with VR (I can't hear him singing Weiland songs). Also, Baz isn't half the songwriter that Weiland or Axl is. So, who's gonna write the lyrics? I know Slash and Duff do write stuff, but Izzy and Axl wrote the majority of the GNR tunes.
And, screw Gilby, Dizzy, and all the horn players on the Illusion Tour. Let's have an Appetite lineup kick some much needed rock n roll ass!
And, John Corabi??? He's playing guitar in RATT. MC94 is OK, but, come on.....

Baz won't work as the VR Frontman. I think they (Slash and Duff) get together with Izzy and find a way to make a full-fledged GNR reunion work. Of course, that would include one obstacle, working with Axl. But the rock world needs GNR, so let's figure it out, guys! And, a Skid Row reunion as the opening act would be fantastic. I saw that lineup in 1991 and would love to see it again!
