the tour line up wasn't that great (for a metal fest, was more like a metalcore fest) last year, but this looks much better :)

BDM shouldnt be on this tour. its for REAL death metal, not bands like this. i will definately hit this up though. Kataklysm, Vader, Aborted, Despised Icon, and Whitechapel are some of my absolute favorites. just hope it doesnt skip denver...
and sounds of the underground is only taking the year off. and only because gigantour took Children of Bodom / In Flames.

Haha... Last years Summer Slaughter was by far one of the best metal shows I've ever seen. (The metalcore comment... wtf?) Cephalic Carnage, Decapitated, Arsis, Necrophagist, The Faceless... f***ing insane.

To anyone naysaying this lineup listen to all the bands first. Stoked to see Psycroptic on the bill!

Maybe a year off will allow for extra time to think up more ideas and time to book bands for SOTU? I will be interested to see what line up they gather together. The line up here sounds fun! I predict a very sore body. *nods*

Wow very cool tour - rk where did you hear the new Cryptopsy stuff? I'm pretty skeptical for anything remotely as good as NSV in the future from them but would still be keen on hearing what they're doing now.

Now Playing: Radiohead - "I Want None Of This"

I actually thought that it was funny the Saints of the Underground were using the acronym SOTU when surely more people will relate that to the festival. But what is the deal with it being "dead"? Is there no SOTU planned for this year?

And post 11, the metalcore comment was no doubt in reference to SOTU, not the Summer Slaughter tour.

And here I was thinking that I would never get a real Metal tour in the states. Ever pessimistic me. Thank god, the supposed Ozzfest line-up had me worried for a moment.

Now Playing: Possessed- "The Eyes of Horror"

The first half of last year's show (except for Arsis), was metalcore. Black Dahlia Murder is metal core with a few Necrophagist-wannabe riffs and terrible guitar solos. And because Necrophagist isn't on this tour, it's worthless.
