Linkin Park Bringing Projekt Revolution To The UK
Linkin Park will bring their annual Projekt Revolution tour to the UK with a Kerrang!-sponsored one-off show at Milton Keynes Bowl on June 29.
The festival-style show is set to feature a set by rapper Jay-Z, who collaborated with the band on the 2004 release Collision Course, with more acts to be announced in coming weeks.
More details will be revealed in tomorrow's issue of Kerrang! which features an interview with Linkin Park vocalist Mike Chinoda.

i actually liked hands held high, mainly for the last part even though the song is mainly oldschool hiphop, which is cool cuz there is almost nothing i listen to, but their new album sounds so different its hard for me to listen to it. maybe if i listen some more ill get used to it.

without linkin park i wouldnt have listened to slipknot and without that i wouldnt have listened to shadows fall or lamb of god(all bands iv lost interest in). So basically my taste in music underwent a transformation and now i listen to black and death metal, the only metalcore band i listen to is chimaira.

For fans of rap/hiphop and light rock, Linkin Park is Ok. In the terms of the Metal world...NO.
making the transition from bands like Blink 182 to bands like Death and Devildriver has been a long and arduous journey, and I am thankful to LP being part of that. I still listen to some of their songs, true, but honestly, in terms of declaring LP one of the greatest bands alive, I pity thee.
To Liquid Metal- hey, at least you aren't represented by the illiterate Slipknot mongers. Your fellow LP fans can at least spell.

say whatever you like but i think everyone who takes music seriously has pretty much grown out of linkin park. i listened to them back in the 7th grade. and nowadays i have a hard time even considering them a "rock" band (actually most artists under the general "rock" label in the states make me not even want to claim that genre as something i listen to, jrock puts them to shame). and actually going back and listening to their earlier material im shocked at how juvenile and absurd it can be. its like it tried to give off the image of being heavy. so for all those that are still hardcore lp fans please put on some devildriver or some at the gates and open your eyes.

Interstingly enough, Marilyn Manson, was my most prominent gateway band for me as well. South Florida has a horrible Metal scene, so that was really the only thing resmbling the genre that I found myself exposed. Heard "Beautiful People" on the radio, and my curiosity for the music with that likeness has led me down the magical path to Metalville. Yipee!

I unlike some people on this site am not ashamed of my past... so with that said, i will admit... i have been to a linkin park show...
the story goes...
it was summer of 2003 i believe. I wasn't exactly a huge LP fan, but my friend was, i was a semi-fan. I was just starting to get into heavier music, well kinda heavier. I was really into classical guitar stuff, and then i got into Neo-classical guitar stuff, then i got into progressive, then it just kept getting heavier but thats here nor there. Anyways back to the story, i was just starting to move out of that phase but my friend got tickets so we had to go, so i went. It was kinda like my farewell to LP. I noticed there were all kinds of douchebag dudes there with collared shirts and sandles. and i noticed i stuck out like a sore thumb with my unearth shirt. i just didn't feel right, ya know?
I hate to admit it, i know i know. Most of you guys would expect me to bash the hell out of a lame-o band like LP, but i cant. the way i see LP is they're kind of like that girlfriend you used to have a long time ago, and when you broke up it was real sketchy. You act like you hate her and you tell everyone shes a whore. but if you hear any news about her you always think about the fun times you had, and then you miss her a lil. Sometimes youll take out the mixtape she made you and play it on your computer but with headphones on so no one will hear. if you passed her on the street you might stop and talk to her, if your alone ofcourse, but if your with friends youll act like you don't notice her. or youll sometimes have some of her old things in your car, but if someone asks about it you'll say it's youl lil semi-deaf sisters. or if your at a party and your drunk, and you shes there you'd be down for a one night stand because you could blame it on the booze in the morning ( by that i mean i've sung LP songs drunk before at partys) Yea thats the relationship i got with LP. I'll never for get you guys...
anyone who hates on me for owning up to my past better lay off, coz im one step closer to the edge and im about to.....

Why, if someone does not like some form of music they still go to the effort of going on a website just to rip into them. If the website was titled "rip into " I could understand. I am a linkin park fan, i am proud of it. Without them i wouldn't have got into heavier stuff. I don't see how i could "grow" out of it. I can change my taste, I can like many different things, that doesn't been I'm any more mature, or my music taste is more mature. There are different types of rock and metal some radically different to others, example nu-metal very different to heavy metal but they still follow some basic principles making hem metal. I do not like jazz music, that does not make it bad, just means i don't like it. I won't go on any jazz news forum and critise it, it does not make a blind bit of difference to me if/where they play, I simply won't go, it's not as if they're playing in/outside my house, I prefer using my moments looking/doing stuff I do like. The comments about them being a bit like pop, well look at the newer stuff of all the heavey metal bands, arent they all turning a bit rock and pop. Just moving with the times!!!
