Soilwork Part Ways With Guitarist Ola Frenning

A Nuclear Blast Records representative has confirmed that Swedish metallers SOILWORK have decided to part ways with guitarist Ola Frenning, citing Ola's resistance of the demands of life on the touring road, as the main reason.
Soilwork singer Björn "Speed" Strid stated: "It was a very difficult decision to make because Ola has been our friend and bandmate for a very long time."
Says Frenning, "After 10 years, seven albums and several world wide tours, we've realized that we have developed in different directions and have a different set of values, profession wise. The disagreements have reached their peak and it has become an untenable situation. The band's solution is that I part ways with them so that I won't be in the way for the future plans of Soilwork. However, since I'm not gonna be on the road (at least for a while), I will now be able to continue with my songwriting and producing at another level."
"For further information, visit www.myspace.com/olafrenning. The page will be updated in the near future."
"Cheers to ya all... And thanks for making these 10 years with the band memorable."
Further updates to follow.

Wow, is it really going to be the same band without their guitarists? There was definitely a different vibe on Great Divide.
I am liking Dimension Zero the more I hear it. Liking that Daniel and Jesper actually play the chops they are known for rather than being comfortable with "live" songs they are putting out in Soilwork and In Flames.
This is still really crappy news to hear though.

this is the saddest news i've heard in a while, and everywhere i go...i'm reminded of it. i hope the band finds a way to not suck without frenning. with him being the producer, and a main writer for the music, i'm a little afraid of what's to come.
