KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have officially received their first RIAA gold certification for their sophomore Roadrunner release, "The End Of Heartache."
Featuring breakthrough radio hits "Rose Of Sharyn" and the Grammy-nominated "The End of Heartache," the album was released on May 11th, 2004 and experienced a steady rise to gold status.
"The End of Heartache" elevated Killswitch Engage into the mainstream scope and was a catalyst for the band's inclusion in national tours such as Taste of Chaos, OZZFest and Vans Warped Tour.
Continuing to push musical boundaries, the band is gearing up to embark on a US co-headlining U.S. tour with LAMB OF GOD, kicking off November 28th and running until December 17th.
The band's latest single, "Holy Diver," from the special edition of their current album As Daylight Dies, is secure in the top 15 of the Active Rock chart and continues to climb.
The band was presented RIAA Gold Plaques on November 7th at the Roadrunner Records US office in New York City.

FocusShift and Dark_Funeral understand, i use to like KSE until i moved to more underground bands and will occasionally listen to Fixation on the Darkness but As Daylight Dies was horsesh** even by metalcore standards

Mr Man I hope that comment wasn't directed towards me because I am making a point that many underground fans hold. Mainstream means easily accessible, and most things easily accessible are either simplistic, filled with hooks, and/or just a trend that will die out.
Why would you want to make something that's going to die out when the fascination is gone?
KSE used to be a unique artist before they mainstream themselves out. Alive or Just Breathing was a very good piece of metalcore and the End of Heartache had its moments. But that last disk was overly polished and overly trying to be melodic metal while still being emo.

Well at least they have more money then u f***ing losers. i can say that because im rich. But i dont hate this band like some of u f***ing virgins, i mean cmon its f***ing music, why hate music unless your a douchbag. But i admit i dont like any of their f***ing albums, its just corny lyrically and chuga chuga breakdowns every two minute intervals. I do think however that Jesse Leach is way f***ing overated, and Howard Jones is wasting his voice in such a corny a$$ band.

Congrats to them. You have to realize that music goes in phases. In the 80's hardrock/metal was mainstream. Then it faded out w/ grunge and pop in the 90's. Now, finally again, hardrock/metal is working it's way back to mainstream. Hiphop/pop is dead. It's tough times. Metal to the rescue. I love it. I think it's great to hear Sabbath and Slayer on classic rock stations. When you are in your 40's. KSE and LOG will be classic rock too. It's the circle of life.

Good point cruor. Those are hard to find in some areas of the States. I still question how rap and hip hop can have 5 radio stations in an area (yet talk about smacking a b**** up) and metal sometimes has one if any because its "inappropriate for the general public."
