H.I.M. Single "The Kiss Of Dawn" Fails To Break Into British Top 40
Helsingin Sanomat reports:
Finnish rock act HIM’s latest single release, a track called "The Kiss of Dawn," failed to break into the official British Top 40 chart on the week of its release. The song entered the British chart at 59, outside the official Top 40 list.
"The Kiss of Dawn" is the first HIM single in four years that has not made it to the Top 40 in Britain. So far the love-metal band's highest UK entries have been with "Solitary Man," which went in at number nine in 2004, and "Wings of a Butterfly," which was ranked tenth on its release in 2005.
"The Kiss of Dawn" is a cut from HIM's new album Venus Doom, which was also released at the beginning of this week in most European markets.
On the more specified UK Top 40 Rock Singles Chart, on the other hand, HIM made it to #1. The band took over the top position from another Finnish group, Nightwish, whose "Amaranth" single now slips down to number two.

Alot of people do. What hint will they get from this? That they're STILL popular? You're assuming that this band is like Metallica and will have to have a breakdown for 4 years, and still put out a sh**ty record.
Post 2. . .You give legitimate metal fans who like HIM a bad name. I go back to the comment that everyone likes different things, and that EVERY metalhead has their "p***y" bands that they love.

I believe there is far more. . .sh**. . .out there broken face. Your use of grammar for one thing. But music wise there is plenty of horrible bands, and artists that aren't even in the pantheon of heavy music. At least HIM is playing heavy blues rock.
Wouldn't be surprised if you liked that f***ing song Party Like a Rockstar.

focus shift how the hell does H.I.M's sh**ty single failing to be liked by mainstream fans give the hint that they are still popular? This band was going no where from the f***ing start. your pretty much alone in trying to defend them. might as well pack up now.

"Pack up now"? "Failing to be liked by mainstream fans" It's still in the top 100. What's the last thrash metal song to accomplish this? You're under the assumption that the band is making music to be popular, but they're not your beloved Metallica. They're doing the musicianship thing and making music they want to whether it hits the charts above or below 40, or even f***ing 400. f***, I like diversity.

"You're under the assumption that the band is making music to be popular" well if there not trying to do that i dont no what else they are doing other than creating music that is complete sh**. as for my "beloved metallica" as u say i could not care less for any of their albums past the black album. hence master of puppets which u so well picked up on. H.I.M can make music for whatever they feel like it is still going to suck. enjoy your diversity though
