Steve Lyttle of The Charlotte Observer reports that off-duty law enforcement officers suffered minor injuries Tuesday night (August 28) while making an arrest during an Ozzfest 2007 concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in north Charlotte.

Overall, however, the sold-out concert took place without the amount of trouble that was experienced at a tour stop earlier this month.

According to police, several off-duty officers working in security at the concert were assaulted by a concert-goer and used force to take him into custody. An unspecified number of the officers suffered minor injuries while making the arrest, police say. The suspect was not hurt.

Tuesday's fracas was a far cry from what happened Aug. 16, during the Ozzfest event at the PNC Bank Art Center in Holmdel, N.J. According to published reports, two people died and 83 arrested at that concert.

Ozzfest has one remaining tour stop — Thursday night in West Palm Beach, Fla.

after re-reading the article i want to say that this part:
(Tuesday's fracas was a far cry from what happened Aug. 16, during the Ozzfest event at the PNC Bank Art Center in Holmdel, N.J. According to published reports, two people were killed and 83 arrested at that concert) is complete BS...2 people died!! they were not ""killed""..they died from their own choices of drinking beer in hot weather and mixing that with drugs and caffeine, therefore, weather, alcohol, and drugs are all factors in that equation...i hate the way some media whores make metal shows out to be so violent and the scum of the earth....

Good point. I didn't catch the killed vs died upon posting it, but I updated the article. It sounds like you missed some of the best bands of Ozzfest...Chthonic, Nile, AND Behemoth.

man the showdown sucked balls and devildriver well all i got to say is dude you missed the bands that clearly showcased on what real metal is all about except for that sh**ty a$$ chicano band. In This Moment was terrible but the chick is hot and she was cool letting that little kid on the stage when he crowd surfed up there.
