Corey Taylor Blames Label Politics For No Anthrax Work

ANTHRAX has abandoned plans to utilize the services of SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor on its next album due to scheduling conflicts with Taylor's other projects. ANTHRAX is said to be currently looking for a new singer to join the fold, although this has not yet been officially confirmed by the band or its management.
Until recently, Taylor had harbored hopes of replacing Joey Belladonna, who himself had taken John Bush's place in order to reunite the New York thrash group's best-known lineup.
As recently as June, Taylor was refusing to rule out the possibility that collaborating with ANTHRAX on the follow-up to "We've Come for You All," recorded with Bush in 2003, might lead to something a little more permanent. Having written lyrics to fit nine songs for the album, Taylor said he was "taking baby steps" towards what would happen next, though he was clear to point out his responsibilities towards SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR.
Talking on the latter's latest U.K. tour, Corey tells Metal Hammer magazine: "All I'm going to be able to do is help ANTHRAX with the album. I'd known all along that it would come down to how much time I had. Unfortunately but fortunately I've got a new album to do with SLIPKNOT. The SLIPKNOT guys got together for a brief meeting before I left home [in Iowa], and it was a lot of fun. There was a lot of laughing and goofing on each other. We all felt really stoked about starting up again. We've already started to put together a plan for the album and tour, everything starting to come together."
The flipside is that thoughts of doing anything meaningful with ANTHRAX are now impossible.
"Various people at the record company [Roadrunner] put their foot down about that," reveals Taylor. "So the way we've left it is that I will do a couple of songs with them, and not the whole album."
That must have been incredibly frustrating?
"Of course," Corey tells Metal Hammer. "I was so stoked that the ANTHRAX guys would consider doing anything with me. So the last thing I wanted to do was let them down. I have no idea of what they'll do now [that I'm unavailable], but the fact that they would still want to do something with me is very exciting. We'll have to see what happens."
Having broken ties with Ross Robinson to work with Rick Rubin, SLIPKNOT is still undecided as to who will produce the successor to 2004's "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)", but drummer Joey Jordison has already revealed that preparation for their fifth studio album (1996's independent debut "Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat" is often overlooked) begins in October.
"That's when the writing is due to start," clarifies Corey. "Recording will hopefully be in January, that's the plan at least."
Expect to hear the album in the spring, possibly preceded by live dates. Meanwhile, has the singer been stockpiling plenty of material?
"Oh, I've got an absolute ton of stuff, man," Corey tells Metal Hammer. "I got three notebooks

Gosh when he will f***in' die???? And why does these cums outta Slipknot doing a new album? And why should anybody want them back? I think the most maggots*fa**ots* grew up, and listening now to some EMO (see slipknot and all that sh** turning your kid into a fag), I hate this world in wich a fa**ot can do whatever he wants to! we should sent him on the Himalaya (hope a yeti will eat him)

1st.Do you really think that I would go nowadays to a f***in' Slipknot show just to tell y'all that you suck! (you should already know that you suck)
2nd. I already said that to the fa**ots and to the gay Stone Sour fans but thy were too high to realize! And the rare ones who weren't high said nuthin' cuz they were probably scared to tell me somethin', otherwise I would beat the sh** outta them!
Do you 12 year old EMO-kid really think that "burned" me?? or impressed me with your frightening gay attitudes? hahahahahahahhaah

I bet spelling scares you. I don't like Slipknot any more than anyone on this website, but do you really need to be that homophobic? Couldn't emo fans be p***ies instead of gay?
If a 12 year old kid is listening to slipknot now, then he wouldn't have been listening to them when that whole music scene blew up, he would have still been "swimming". Way to go and pick on kids half your age. Nothing like a little kid bashing to put some hair on your balls. Grow up dude.

Man...! I went to the Stone Sour concert just to see them fail! I asked a friend if he would throw a broken bottle at Corey, but the sucker didn't wanna do it! and I couldn't do it cuz the security is a bunch of pervs, they searched our pockets and bags...! The irony was that my knee got hit by 6 water bottles thrown by Corey! I limped for f***in' days ( I should sue this whore). I Only LIKED $lipknot cuz I was a "fan" since 98 I grew up with their music, it was a nostalgic time! But I'm into death-, black-, trash-, speed--metal and some punk! I luv Cannibal Corpse, Testament, Slayer, Satyricon, black flag etc. so don't f*** about my music taste! see you're doing the same thing like me! I f***ed 'bout the emos and you complained like a b****! and now you're f***in' about a band wich I liked when I was a kid!!! bad Necropolis!!! bad bad! in the corner with you!!!

I'm still trying to figure out what you just said. Each time I'm getting something completely different. I even had to re-read all the posts, but I never ripped on you for your music tastes, I said you were getting soft in your old age. I was simply saying that there is some really good music out there that you are missing out on. I never said anything about your music tastes, don't put words in my mouth.

I write a lot! and sometimes I forget a few words! or the tense isn't correct! one reason is cuz I've to cut my sentences and I'm a little bit thoughtless and psyched! I know...sometimes it's hard for you to understand the meaning of my posts! So I'll apoligize for my abstruse messages! But there is still no need to run me down like that or to take the piss outta me!
...good job! Now I'm p***ed! Some f***er will feel my hate today!
