Mondo Generator Finished With Ozzfest?
MONDO GENERATOR, the band led by former QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE bassist Nick Oliveri, reportedly missed yesterday's (Tuesday, July 24) Ozzfest stop at the Cricket Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ. The group's logo/photo has also been removed from the "Bands" section at Ozzfest.com, and MONDO GENERATOR's name is conspicuously absent from the schedule for tomorrow's (July 26) Ozzfest stop at Journal Pavilion in Albuquerque, NM, fueling rumors that the band has dropped off the summer tour.

Mondo Generator is great. Saw them at Hyundai Pavilion last weekend and they ruled. Ernie from Sprung Monkey and Accident Experiment was on drums and whooped some bottom. They're definitely different from the all double bass all the time shredding metal and throat vocal crap that occupied most slots on Ozzfest. More punk and heavy groove mixed with metal...like the tune's Nick sang on for QOTSA, only better! It's too bad all of the other Ozzfest cities will miss them on the rest of the tour.

Well Ozzfest did say that they didn't care if a band came or went so oh well I guess.
