Two more tracks have been announced for "Guitar Hero III" which will see a release this fall on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 2 and Wii consoles. The latest two to be revealed include:
Pearl Jam - "Evenflow"
Priestess - "Lay Down"
Both songs will be the original studio recordings. More on that can be found here. Similarly, another track has also been revealed for the upcoming "Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks The 80s", it being "We Got The Beat" by the Go-Go's. The game is tentatively planned for a July 17th release date on the Playstation 2 and will also feature tracks from the likes of Twisted Sister, The Police, Dio, Accept, Ratt and more.

I'd love to see Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2), Hotel California, and definitely a song from In Flames and Dream Theater. Can you even imagine trying to do a song like Stream of Consciousness on expert? Damn...
And for a bonus song, I'd love to see an extended version of the South Park theme song (done by Primus of course).

to Stephen:
Under a Glass Moon and December Flower excellent choices..
Also throw in: Comfortably Numb, Stairway to Heaven, Higher Power, and maybe a couple underground metal songs is what I would like to see. Possibly Dark Tranquillity or Amon Amarth, At the Gates, and maybe a song or two from Dream Theatre's brand new album (it is completely amazing btw)

I think they don't have Stairway to Heaven because of Wayne's World! lol I think some God Forbid would be fun on there too. The only thing that sucks about the game to me is the metal singers are usually really bad like Laid to Rest. And yeah from The Blackening I'd like to see the song Clenching the Fists of Dissent but it's over 10 minutes long so I don't know if that would work lol
And I've actually seen this list on a couple different sites for songs that were confirmed to be on the game:
- Paint It Black (by The Rolling Stones)
- Cherub Rock (by Smashing Pumpkins)
- Sabotage (by Beastie Boys)
- The Metal (by Tenacious D)
- My Name is Jonas (by Weezer)
- Knights of Cydonia (by Muse)
- Rock And Roll All Nite (as made famous by Kiss)
- School’s Out (as made famous by Alice Cooper)
- Slow Ride (as made famous by Fog Hat)
- Cult of Personality (by Living Colour)
- Barracuda (as made famous by Heart)

I read an article about the xbox360 release of Guitar Hero II that said Metallica just won't give permission for any of their songs. Shouldn't come as a surprise considering their crusade against Napster and stuff like that. It could all change though. The article mentioned that Guns and Roses were contacted for the first Guitar Hero game and didn't even issue a response but they jumped at the chance to contribute "Sweet Child O' Mine" for number two after seeing how popular the game had become.

I don't see how Sabotage would work personally, Fight For Your Right or No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn if they wanna include Beasties. Maybe She's Crafty but not Sabotage methinks. Stairway To Heaven is too obvious a song to choose though, aswell as being too long etc.

For sh**s and giggles, I'd love to see a Nile song on there...Unas Slayer of the Gods anyone? Perhaps Masturbating The War God?
I don't have any of the previous Guitar Heroes, so correct me if the following have already been used, but I think some Pantera or Rebel Meets Rebel is in order. I would go with f***ing Hostile or Cemetary Gates for the former, and Get Outta My Life for the latter.

I think "The Metal" by Tenacious D would be a pretty fun song to play on GH. I agree their first CD has better tunes but maybe not better guitar tracks. I'd love to see a Type O Negative song on there, along with Master of Puppets. Another Brick in The Wall was mentioned, I agree that would be a pretty sweet song to play.
