Burnt By The Sun Drummer to Play with Alec Empire and Melt Banana

Burnt By the Sundrummer David Witte will join electronic artist Alec Empire's band for several upcoming shows, including the Fuji Rock Festival and England’s Reading and Leeds festivals. Witte states. "I'm excited to play with Alec and his band as it's an opportunity to try my hand at an entirely different style of high-impact music. It's going to be a great time and I'm thankful for the opportunity to share the stage with such a groundbreaking musician." Witte will also undertake a North American tour starting October 1st, playing drums for Japan's Melt Banana, who he previously played with on their 2001 European tour and their recent shows at the More Than Music and Victoriaville Music Festivals. "I had a blast touring with MB last year! They are one of my personal favorite bands and their style is completely fresh and unique as well as a challenge night in and night out. We really rip it up together and the upcoming North American Tour will be nothing short of explosive." Meanwhile, Burnt By The Sun will continue gigging during Witte’s downtime between dates with Empire and Melt Banana.
