Judas Priest Eyeing Mid 2007 Release for New Album

Launch Radio Networks reports: Things are going well with the recording of the new JUDAS PRIEST album. It's a concept album about the 16th Century French prophet Nostradamus, and the band has started thinking about release dates. Frontman Rob Halford told Launch that everyone's excited about the project. "The writing sessions were fantastic — some of the best writing that (guitarists) Glenn (Tipton) and K.K. (Downing) and myself have ever created, and we're in good shape, we're recording. And finger's crossed, and with the belief that it's ready when it's ready, we should be out by the middle of 2007 with 'Nostradamus'."
This will be PRIEST's first album since "Angel of Retribution" came out in 2005, marking Halford's return to the group.
JUDAS PRIEST is also working out the details for a stage show to go along with the album's subject matter.

I seen them the first time on the Defenders of the Faith tour... back in about '85....That was phenominal.!!!! actually it was quite funny..
Great White was the opener... ( that was their first tour )...They got booed off the stage, by all the rowdy Priest fans.. There was more leather in that crowd, than I have ever seen in one place...
of course, I have never seen a bad JP show...I dont think its possible, with that much talent on the stage...they seem to like, giving their fans something they will remember forever..
And they have consistantly put out fantastic albums...although, Screaming for Vengence is my all time favorite...!!!!

Oddly enough, I am a bit older so those are the ones I grew up with....Hell, I remember hearing Rocka Rolla, on 8-track tapes...hahaha

I did'nt really get into priest until the Turbo Lover era.But quickly whent back and got into their older stuff & have been a major fan ever since.
Funny story. When myself and a friend of mine were younger and listening to Priest. His older sister would alway's tease us.Because we were constantly back and fourth fagot this fagot that. She would come up to us and tell us."Dont you two idiot's listen to the his lyric's Rob Halford is gay!".
We of course would be like "No way that's Bullsh**,He's the Metal God,Neal and pay homage etc."To which she would respond "YEAH YEAH YEAH WHATEVER YOU IDIOT'S".Then eventually Rob comes out of the closet.....I swear I almost passed out.My buddy who had all the Priest album's tossed them into a bon fire we attended a month later.IIINNNSSSAAANNNIIITTTYYY !!!!!!!!

Always have loved the Priest...just something fun about their music. As far as the Ripper Years go..."Jugulator" has some definite keepers...and the "Live" 2-disc really shows off his range on the Priest classics. The last one ("Demolition") had only a few tracks that are worth your time. Although I like all the Ripper records...if I was trying to be objective...I'd say not to get the last one...but the other 2 are worth it. His work with Iced Earth has alse been really damn good.
Back on point...I'll be picking up the new Priest record.

Priest rules!! i am also extremely excited about this new album. as far as their discography goes, there isnt really an album that i dont like. painkiller is probably my favorite, though screaming for vengeance and angle of retribution rank high on my list. ive seen them live once and ive seen halford live once (which was basically a priest cover concert). as far as the mighty Ripper goes, i agree with JT. jugulator kicks ass, demolition has some good stuff on it but some sh** too. Yes, the Ripper was phenominal on the last IE record. Beyond Fear wasnt bad either, but the lyrics need a lot of work.

the new priest album sounds like it will be good.they have been doing albums for along time now so they know what they are doing.i first heard priest back in 1987 and have been a fan ever since,so what if rob is gay it does not change the music,i dont see how it could, that would make no sense.i think for fans to turn their backs on priest because rob is gay when everything he has done for metal and an amazing voice aswell is just really sad,how can you be a fan of a band for 20 years or more and one day stop being a fan just like that, makes no sense.i will be getting the new album.long live the priest.METAL GODS forever.666

Priest fu__ing KICKS ASS!!! Dreamer Deceiver is one of my favorite songs. Halfords voice is killer!! I can't wait for the new album and tour. I will be there raising all kinds of hell!! You can bet on that. I don't care at all if Halford is gay, more power to the fag!!!! Atleast he don't listen to Green Day or My Chemical Romance!!!!
