Avenged Sevenfold To Take Their Time On New Album

Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows says the band plans to take its time writing the follow-up to 2005's City of Evil. While the boys have been working on new material for a few weeks now, Shadows doesn't see the band hitting the studio until at least May. And when Avenged do, the singer said they'll track the disc without the benefit of a seasoned producer. "We're 90 percent sure we're going to produce it ourselves," said Shadows, who recently helped produce the Confession's new LP. "We want to do it ourselves because we know what we want." He said fans can expect the album's tracks to be bigger and longer, and added that he hopes to have the disc out by the fall.

If I don't get frustrated when I listen to the likes of Slayer, Necrophagist, Nile, and Pantera, how exactly would I get frustrated listenining to Avenged Sevenfold? Don't tell me Avenged Sevenfold compare to any of those bands. Those bands have all established themselves within the metal community. You got the reason wrong, buddy.
I like to give bands a chance. I also like to know what they're about [if I dig their music]. From various interviews [online, and in Metal Hammer], I get more sh** about drug use and groupie gangbangs. While it's all fun and games and rock n' roll....what are they doing for music? What are they changing? What's the big deal?
If the music is just THAT good, then it'll be easy for me to pass over the other activities of a band. But when they throw some sh** that's been done before [80's metal...] at you...I just don't want to listen..It's nothing new. Sure it's awesome to recognize your roots...but to copy them?

Not that I'm a basher here, but I eat, sleep and breathe metal. It's a huge part of my life. I see bands like A7X corroding one of the things I love. I must fight for what I feel is right no matter what, just like I fight other things in my life. It does make a difference, it makes a difference to me. And I do praise my favourite bands obviously.
Anyway dude, I don't really mind what A7X do or if people like them, I don't consider them metal.

Glam metal, yes, I hate glam metal too. I will agree with you there.
Why hate speed metal? It f***ing rules, especially DragonForce. Great songs and amazing solos.
Female singers DO belong in metal, especially Arch Enemy as it's a perfect fit for that band. She has amazing vocals and adds a metal edge to that band that is truly great. Nightwish and Evanescene are the other two metal bands with female singers..and Lacuna Coil...maybe? I can't remember, but it's sweet that are female singers in metal.
I won't say sh** about Iron Maiden dude. No f***ing way. Iron Maiden, like the great band Pantera, are pioneers of their own respective sorts. Thank god for the existence of those bands and many other metal bands.
To summarize, let's not forget the important aspects of this forum...
1.) METAL f***ING RULES! Anybody who f***ing disagrees, leave this website right now because you're f***ing idiots who probably don't give a sh** about talented musicians and awesome music.

a) that A7X songwriting is poor. Just poor. I have probably only heard 3-4 of their songs and that's all I need. Case in point the first riff in the song "Unholy Confessions" is a watered down At The Gates rip off, I wrote stuff like that when I was 14 and thought it was cool. Then I grew up. I now write more technical death/thrash songs.
b) Why the hell should we care if they put all this effort into recording practising etc if the music is sh**? I'd rather praise a band like Necrophagist who do everything A7X do except, well 7X better.
