Rock Star Supernova Lose Jason Newsted To Injury

Rock Star Supernova have suffered a major setback with the loss of bassist Jason Newsted. The former Metallica member is scheduled for immediate surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder and a rotator cuff and bicep tear in the right. Newsted suffered the injuries while trying to catch his 90-pound bass head that had fallen from his amp. The surgery and rehab could have him sidelined for up to nine months.
"I'm freaking out," says Newsted, "My heart was set on finally getting on the road with these guys, but my main focus now is to build myself back to 100%. The stage is set for the band, I wish them the best of luck."

i think he's lucky - this tour is fraught with bad luck - but riddle me this; how can they call it a supergroup if it's so easy to just replace a bass player, as opposed to postponing the tour? I am now sure nobody was taking this seriously - it was just a way to have a second season of the popular show. Magni and Storm and the House Band have been fired from the tour, cause it's too expensive - doesn't sound like a lot of thought was put into this whole affair

LOL-You guys are some heartless f***ers! As I understand Newstead looked at this as a promo op for Viovod. He's pretty much without a band-he couldn't stay in Metallica and now that Viovod's guitarist passed away (RIP), he pretty much took the oppurtunity to become a house hold name. Can't really blame him-he didn't sell out-he bought in!

I agree with post 13... There is nothing wrong with a guy wanting to make more money...and still be a rock star...? So his maturity level grew and his taste in friends and music have changed in the last 20 yrs...That doesnt make it cool that the dude got hurt and cant do what he loves to do...create music.!!!...I am a guitarist and I have had moments in my life that I couldnt play due to an injury of some sort....It drove me crazy.... I cant imagine the "hell" he is going thru... Bummer !!!!!
By the way...I am wondering what the deal is with him worrying so much about the amp...Doesnt he have enough money to buy a new one..?
---quick note to the "know It alls" Jason Newsted was a founding member of Flotsam n Jetsom before anything else...He was only ever a member of Metallica because of Cliff Burtons death.... And for him to get sick of being a member of Metallica..thats really easy to understand ...I wasnt even a member of the band and I havent been able to enjoy listening to anything, after "And Justice For All", much less have to play that $hit night after night....I couldnt imagine having to be around Lars day after day withouot wanting to smack the arrogant little bastard...and that limp wristed guitarist is about annoying too.... MEGADETH has always been better than Metallica
