UK Magazine Advertises Dimebag "Afterlife" Message

Band Photo: Damageplan (?)
'Harmonize', a registered member of the official MEGADETH forum, posted a U.K. magazine advertisement for the British television drama series "Afterlife". The advertisement appears to contain a fraudulent message from the late "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (Pantera, Damageplan), written post-mortem. "Afterlife" is based on the activities of a psychic medium who can seemingly communicate with the spirits of the deceased, and the advertisement is thus designed to imitate a classified "Personals" page in a newspaper where the recently passed-over are able to make contact with those of us still alive. The supposed message from Dimebag is as follows:
"Darrell, 38, talented guitarist, shot by crazed fan. Tell the bro's back home I'm doing fine. Raise a blacktooth on me. Oh yeah, Jimi says hi."
You can take a look at the advertisement here, and a close-up of the Dimebag message part here.

Tasteless yes, probably. Publicity seeking, no, not in the UK. Unless you are well into metal that message would not register. I have the newspaper that was released in and to be honest the whole thing is pretty sublte and doesn't appear like an advert for a TV show. The thing is the TV show in question is not in your face or has bad tatse, in fact it is actually pretty damn good and very well acted. 99.99% of this shows fans would not have a clue who Dimebag was but I am guessing a Pentera/Dimebag fan in advertising or the production team wanted to put a subtle note in the advertising that only other fans would pick up on. This is not a point of disraspect on Dimebag but a confirmation of the worldwide an d curtural impact he made. I actually have an idea who put this in and if I am correct it was made in anything but an attempt at disrespect but someones heart felt attempt to keep Dimebags name going on all levels. Guys, read what it says and the level of subtlety in the nature of the publication, this wasn't an attempt at major publicity hyping, only fans would pick this up and the message wasn't black. I am betting Dimebag would actually have a giggle at this.

if what you say is true, i think that if they truley wanted to honor dime for his legacy and impact on heavy metal, they should have done so in a more honorable manner. this message from heaven sh** is disrespectful because it is tongue in cheek and mocking in nature, whether intended or not. this is a case of what was written, not what was intended, and i guarantee that most fans of dimebag that were to come upon this article would find it repulsive and stupid. RIP Dime.
