Mindless Self Indulgence Have Reached Number 1 In The US Dance Single Charts

Band Photo: Nine Inch Nails (?)
Mindless Self Indulgence was particularly surprised to discover that their song "Shut Me Up" is the unexpected number 1 selling dance single in the US. The band has managed to better such popular culture acts as Beyonce (featuring Jay Z), Madonna, and Justin Timberlake's dance chart debut, "Sexyback". Are Mindless Self Indulgence becoming a mainstream act? Or is mainstream finally being given the boot? Check out the chartlist here. MSI's song "Straight To Video" has made it to number 11, and Nine Inch Nails' "Every Day Is Exactly The Same" remains in the top five.

agreed With teeth could have been better, but Riight Where It Belongs is an excuse to mope about with the impression that nothing is real: we're living in an illusion. A song that can make you sit down for even a minute and question your existence is a song worth listening to.

Right Where It Belongs was one of the better songs on that album for me, I quite agree. I thought Why Do You Get All The Love In The World (while lyrically sounding a little emo) was a great way to start the record, and had a really cool atmosphere to it. Unfortunately, there was a lot of distortion effects used in some of the songs, which I'm not particularly big on.

I think the world as a whole is beginning to get tired of music that's been manufatured by corporate america AKA top 40 music(sadly this does include Hip Hop to a certaine extent)and is looking to get back to basic's.This means Guitar Base Drums maybe some keyboards and actual artist's writeing and performing their own KEY WORD !!!! THAT'S OWN MUSIC !!!!! It had to happen eventually. It's nice to hear real artistry on the radio againe although I'm not much of a fan.

Johnny, I'm with you, I thought (and still think) that With Teeth was a great album. Even so, NIN have produced better material in their time. And I'm right into MSI, I think they're great to kick back and have a laugh to.
Blackdog, good point. And thank god the world is finally waking up (to an extent) - it couldn't have done so too soon.
