Flyleaf Gets A Little Help On-Stage

With guitarist Jared visibly absent at tonight's (Aug 19) Family Values stop in Devore, CA, Flyleaf got a little help from their friends; MySpace Friends. Flyleaf was joined onstage by a female fan that sent them a video of herself playing 'Breathe Today' on guitar. The band liked her rendition so much they invited her on stage to fill in for an ailing Jared. Stone Sour guitarist, Josh Rand, who was celebrating his birthday, filled in on guitars for the song 'Fully Alive.' Jim Root (Slipknot, Stone Sour) filled in later on a song also. The rest of the songs were played by the bands guitar tech.

That's really cool! It's even cooler that they let one of their fans come up on stage and play a song with them! The band isn't that great but they sell really well! So whatever works!

The music sucks but the singer has a welcome range and has the screaming thing -down-....

She should use it as often as Aaron Lewis did on Dysfunction.

They need to darken those guitars a shade, complicate the rhythms, fix the lyrics and boost their production values a hair....Might be a good band if they pull all that off.

Flyleaf is a cool band. It must have been a treat for that fan to play live with them, that's always cool. Hope Jared Hartmann gets better.

It's conjecture, I'm only entertaining the idea of things that I would expect, given their greater level of exposure and increased level of touring.

For me it's an ideal context for a band that has some potential that I would like to see come to fruition.

Not me, I think this band is terrible. The singer does have a wide range of abilities, but they are never, I repeat never in sync with the music. It kinda reminds me of a garage bands learning the keys, and trying to keep up with each other. I think this band will fade out like other sub-type bands did when their 35 seconds of fame wore off. Trying to name a few here.....Taproot after their new album.....I really thought Future Leaders of America would be big...wrong....there was another band ugh.......um.....not crossfade but they did a single and it was awesome, and now nobody has seem them, the single was HUGE too. Just cant remember who the hell they were.

flyleaf a softer kitie, please, but dont hate, flyleaf is an amazing band... Lacy has a one of a kind voice not to mention there is meaning to their music unlike the pointless rambling nonsense that is played on the radio. They will make it big, just give it time, i saw them play the family values tour, they went on right before stonesour and they rocked out hard, look for them hitting it big before to long...

To me this is as big as they'll get. They may be around for another CD be because of their success with So Sick. I don't really know how many albums they sold but they became somewhat popular and known, thanks to the killing of music: MTV. But this is probably their high point unless something new happens with them. Maybe new producer?
