The Dillinger Escape Plan have announced that following the completion of their current touring schedule, they plan to disappear and finish writing new material for their next album which will likely see a release next year. More on that can be found here. In addition, if you've yet to hear it, you can check out the bands cover of Massive Attack's "Angel" online here. The track was taken from the groups recently released iTunes only EP, "Plagiarism".

That whole cover thing from iTnes was a letdown....But thats they way it goes with covers. I'm on pins and needles for the new album of original material. I've been with this band since Under the Running Boards and I still love them.

boring as f***

i'm a firm believer in using melody in the madness. showing your chops as a technical master as well as a masterful songwriter is something to be appreciated. i'm not bashing this bands talent, i just think when you lose sight of harmony then your songs evolve into mindless technical wankery.

that's why mike patton has become a lame a$$ parody of himself.

agree w/ remembermetal. they came into their own on calculating infinity though. i thought it was light years beyond under the running boards as far as musicianship and song structures are concerned. this is one of the most innovative and entertaining bands in extreme music today, and i cant wait for the new one......and brad, if you've heard miss machine, which im sure you have then how can you say they lost sight of harmony?? their is so much more to offer as far as actual song writing on miss machine than calculating infinity, or under the running boards for that matter. you sound like avenged sevenfold in your post and that is dissapointing because i usually agree w/ you. oh well, totally a matter of taste.
