Korn Ready To Launch Family Values Tour Tomorrow

Launch Radio Networks reports: It's still over three months until Election Day, but the Family Values crowd is on the move. KORN resurrects the tour of that name tomorrow (Saturday, July 29) in Antioch, Tennessee, with a line-up featuring DEFTONES, 10 YEARS, STONE SOUR, FLYLEAF and others. This will be KORN singer Jonathan Davis' first live excursion since a blood infection felled him in Europe last month, and he told launch he's chomping at the bit. "We're just gonna go out there and rock the house," he said. "I think I'm gonna be extra hungry 'cause it was taken away from me from Europe, so it's gonna be good. Production-wise, I mean, it's gonna be different, it'll be cool. I mean, we've got stripper poles, wading pools, paintball gun fields, all kinds of crazy, weird s*** that we're gonna be doing in each town, so it should be good."
Davis spent much of the last month recovering from the rare, potentially fatal disorder that forced KORN to cancel most of its European tour in June.
The first Family Values package debuted in 1998 and featured RAMMSTEIN, LIMP BIZKIT, ICE CUBE and ORGY in addition to KORN. Two later editions, in 1999 and 2001, included acts like STAIND, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, LINKIN PARK, FILTER and METHOD MAN.
This summer's tour is offering lawn tickets for a mere $9.99 at each stop. Davis said that the group's recent partnership with the Live Nation concert organization is allowing them to keep prices down.

I dont even really like deathmetal. I just know Korn is overrated, overhyped and currently considered a sellout. Alot of top people I talk to in the music industry right now will head over heels agree with me. They have overstayed their welcome and now it is time for them to go away. COnstantly trying too hard to stay popular is making them look worse, and in the end they will suffer for it.

I dont think thats true.Korn survived Nu-Metal simply because they rule, they work hard and they have a gigantic following that most bands could only ever dream of achieving(most never will).Just try telling a Korn fan that they suck. That looks like one cool tour.Anywayz,METAL 4 LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Korn may have "survived" nu metal, but they clearly did'nt come out unscathed.
the nu metal fad is over .... and when i say fad i mean that every band under the nu metal genre wont get signed to a label like they use to only the more popular bands of the genra will "survive" (Korn, Linkin Park, staind and so on).
Now the fad is metalcore and i personally love metalcore because i am a fan of both hardcore punk and metal.
but metalcore is'nt something new .... it's been around since the late 80s with bands such as nuclear assult so this proves that it hs more staying power than nu metal does.
I personally think nu metal was fun for a while but it's over and bands like korn should stop playing crappy music.

Korn is #1. End of Story. You can call them whatever you wish, I don't care, Korn doesn't care.. and the millions of other fans also don't care. Fact is - they kick as*s and always will. They left their mark on the history of music. They may be past their prime, but hundreds of bands are. Big fu*cking deal. Their newest album may be different than their old stuff, but it's still good and it's still KORN! They are still playing to sold out stadiums, and selling records. As long as they are alive and kicking, there will be Korn fans around to back them up.

ok korns been my fav band since the 4rth grade fuk every one dissing themm, u say go listen to some real music like slayer and lamb of god, well the thing is i like to hear atleast a lil talent from the vocalist, cuz every one can scream. I got some lamb of god and slayer it just dont apeal to me it sounds like sh**. How the fuk do u like that? To me death metal is pointless and sh**ty. They shouldnt even be allowed to call themselfs a band.

FIRST OF ALL, WHAT THE f*** IS METALCORE, AND WHO EXACTLY IS IN THAT CATAGORY!
AND DEATH METAL AND "TRASH" METAL ARE THE SAME f***ING THING, THEY BOTH SCREAM AND SING ABOUT SOME BULLsh**!!!!!!!
ALL YOU KORN HATERS ARE JUST GIVING THEM MORE FUEL TO DO WHAT THEY DO BEST, AND THATS KICK ALL THOSE BULLsh** BANDS ASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Metalcore is metal mixed with hardcore punk which has recently risen to popularity .... bands such as Killswitch engage, Mad Ball, Hate breed,as i lat dieing all belong to the genra just to name a few.
Thrash metal evolved out of hardcore punk ..... before the thrash four (metallica, slayer, anthrax, and megadeth) such speed and agression was never seen before in metal.
Death metal evolved from thrash .... it's usually darker and is made up of unintangible vocals often refered to as cookie monster vocals.
Both death and thrash metal bands have complex guitar and drum work, but death meatl usually uses blast beats( which was adopted by many nu metal bands such as SOAD and Slipkont).
Nu metal owes both thrash metal and death metal for what it is today because belive it or not nu metal evolved out of not just hip hop but thrash metal as well.

ok fu*k u all Korn is badass... and Korndogg thrash and death are nothing alike... take for example listen to lamb of god then listen to dimmu borgir... well anyways all metal is badass... and M0uRnInG_StAr u say nu-metal is over and metalcore lives on since it's been here longer... well f*** it was once new as well so whos to say nu metal won't survive, look into the past to understand the present u fu*king retards...
24. writes:
first of all dimmu borgir is'nt death metal .... it's watered down symphonic black metal.
And i did'nt say nu metal is over i said the fad is over meaning their are alot less nu metal bands then there use to be and record labels are'nt hunting for the next big nu metal band anymore.
Read my posts more carefully.

MY POINT IS U GUYS MAKE UP TO MANY CATAGORIES FOR THESE f***EN BANDS!
METAL IS METAL..........THATS IT!
IF U GUYS CALL YOUR SELF METALHEADS THAN WHY DO U HATE CERTAIN KINDS OF METAL, THATS NOT A METALHEAD!
ME ON THE OTHER HAND AM NOT A METALHEAD, I JUST LIKE A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT BANDS IN METAL!
NOT "NU, THRASH, BLACK, DEATH, OR METALCORE", JUST METAL IN GENERAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU GUYS NEED TO RELAX AND NOT TRY TO CATAGORIZE ALL THESE DIFFERENT BANDS, THEIR ALL METAL, LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!

mourning star couldn't be more accurate in his descriptions on types of metal. But Nu metal is dead. ask any record producer. And metalcore and hardcore will survive because it's not as mainstream in most cases. Yes you do have the occasional sell out. But those bands suck anyway. But as much as i love lamb of god they are fallowing the same path of slipknot and mudvayne.(Nu metal) The difference is they wont be liked by everyone ever. Oh and i saw korn when they were big and they sucked then. So i guess they still do.

32. writes:
Nu metal is'nt over just the fad is over ..... Though it has decreased in popularity latley to make way for metalcore, indie, and yes even the horribal sound that is emo.
Nu metal is still beeing kept alive by bands such as slipknot, disturbed, and yes even korn.
And korndogg i don't ever recall calling myself a metal head .... cause i'm not .... i like metal, punk, hardcore, techno, and rock .... i love it all ... yes i even listen to nu metal ... even though it's not my favorit form of music.

37. writes:
OH AND BEING UNDERGROUND IS SO f***ING KOOL, IF A BAND IS NOT UNDERGROUND THEY ARE SELLOUTS RIGHT?
I DONT WANT TO HEAR THAT BULLsh** ABOUT A GROUP DOESNT SELL SO ITS NOT THAT THEY SUCK ITS JUST THAT THEIR "UNDERGROUND"
WHATEVER GETS U THROUGH THE DAY, AND IM PROLLY OLDER THAN YOU SO DONT TRY THAT AGE BULLsh** WITH ME!

38. writes:
umm did i say if the band isn't underground that they are sellouts? no, i happen to like some mainstream bands, im just making a point that it doesnt matter how many records a band sells, it doesn't make then "better" then other bands idiot. if we go by records sellings i guess the beatles and michael jackson are the best artists of all time, hmm does that sound about right?

People keep saying Korn is a seel out and i don't understand, their old fans ay not approve of their music now but at least they're appealing to a new audience cause with most teens now they can't stand the screaming stuff you can't understand in music espically if they just started listening to rock, and even though their new stuff my suck to some they still are a band that could get almost anybody into rock music weither they listen to the old or new stuff
