King's X Band and Project Updates

KING'S X frontman Doug Pinnick has posted the following message on the band's official MySpace profile:

"I am home from the last KING'S X tour. It was awesome to play for and meet many of you people at the shows.

"In this time that I have off from touring, I plan on writing a few tunes for KING'S X and solo stuff. The project I did with Jeff [Ament, bass] and Mike [McCready, guitar] from PEARL JAM will be finished soon! They (PEARL JAM) are on a world tour now but since I am home I am planning to do what I have to to finish my vocals, which has been the hold-up.

"I am heading back to L.A. to get in on the mixing of ZERO 1, Hal Sparks' band that I have been producing with Hal. And Will Calhoun from LIVING COLOUR and I have been talking about doing a record together also.

"I just got a memo that KING'S X will be playing the 'Rock Palast' [TV show] in Germany October 20th! This means that there will be more shows booked around that time for you guys living in Europe! And we plan on recording a new KING'S X CD with Michael Wagener in the near future also."

KING'S X's latest album, "Ogre Tones", was released in September 2005 via InsideOut Music. The band's first release for the label was produced by Michael Wagener (METALLICA, ALICE COOPER, SKID ROW).

In related KING'S X news, guitarist Ty Tabor is tentatively scheduled to release his new solo album, "Rock Garden", on September 12. You can check out two songs from the upcoming CD, "Wading In" and "Play," on their MySpace page.

In other news, Tabor has announced that he is collaborating with Wally Farkas of GALACTIC COWBOYS on a new side project, dubbed XENUPHOBE. Described as "a hypnotic soundscape that takes the listener on an hour-long journey to the innermost depths of one's mind," the group's debut album, "1.0" "goes to places only hinted on previous works such as 'In the New Age' (Tabor's highly collectable 1996 ambient release) and tracks such as 'At the End of the Day' and 'Song for Sybo' (Farkas' compositions from final two GALACTIC COWBOYS releases)," according to a press release.

KING'S X's October 20, 2006 concert at the Harmonie in Bonn, Germany will be filmed for the WDR TV program "Rockpalast" as part of their "Crossroads" series. A European tour is in the works as well.
