KORN have cancelled their June 11 appearance in Dublin, Ireland for the Download Festival 2006, promoters Aiken Promotions have announced.
The cancellation comes after KORN singer Jonathan Davis was admitted to a hospital in London for undisclosed reasons, forcing him to miss the band's appearance at U.K.'s Download Festival, taking place today at Donington Park.
KORN were scheduled to play at the RDS Arena in Dublin before headliners METALLICA.
KORN performed a shortened 30-minute set on the main stage of Day 2 of the U.K.'s Download Festival today (June 10) with a variety of guests helping out on vocals, including singers from SLIPKNOT, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, DEVILDRIVER and TRIVIUM. The group's setlist was as follows:
01. It's On! (with Jesse Hasek from 10 YEARS)
02. Falling Away from Me (with M Shadows from AVENGED SEVENFOLD)
03. Somebody Someone (with Dez Fafara from DEVILDRIVER)
04. Coming Undone (with Dez Fafara from DEVILDRIVER)
05. A.D.I.D.A.S. (with Benji Webbe from SKINDRED)
06. Clown (with Corey Taylor from SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR)
07. Freak on a Leash (with Corey Taylor from SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR)
08. Blind (with Matt Heafy from TRIVIUM)

I was there and saw Korn with the various guests. Most of them sucked especially Dez. The best one was Benji from Skindred. They had an autocue up on stage for the singers and most of them were reading it for most of the songs. For Blind they just put the autocue up on the big screens and let the fans help out Matt (who was actually pretty good).
It was good of the other singers to help Korn out of a hole and it was interesting to see it, but it wasn't a very strong performance all in all.

Hey - just do a google on "Jonathan Davis" and "Download" - turns out he has something called ITP [Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura] according to blabbermouth.net - he ain't gonna die or anything apparently but it's some kind of blood disease. I was there on Saturday too and I reckon it was a total washout. Benji was the only one who was any good but they kept introducing each song before playing it so it was pretty boring - no real tension or flow between songs. It could have been soooooo awesome but it was pretty crap all in all.

Leelee sent me this.. it's from Korn.com
letter from JD
Hey everyone,
I am writing this to thank everyone who called, or emailed me the past few days, believe me, they have been some of the scariest days of my life.
This is the short version of what happened. I started getting these weird bruises all over my body about 2 weeks ago. I was getting very weak after the shows so I saw a doctor in London Friday. He took some blood tests and when the results came in they rushed me to the hospital. It turned out that I have ITP, it's too hard to spell, but basically it's a blood infection, where because of an allergic reaction I had to some medication, my blood platelets, the stuff my bone marrow produces to help my blood clot, were really low. I mean way low. Most humans have between 140 and 400 in their cells. I had 5.. no joke... FIVE. If I continued to headbang on stage I could have had a brain hemorrahage and dropped dead on the spot.
My doctors ordered me to remain at the hospital until they could get my blood in some kind of healthy shape.
I want to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at The London Clinic, all the singers who performed with the band at the London festival: Cory from Slipknot/Stone Sour, Dez from Devildriver, Jesse from Ten Years, Benji and Skindred, Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold, and Matt from Trivium. I want to thank my band and crew for all their love and support, my loving family and friends and most of all the fans, the best fans in the world.
The doctors are telling me that each day I've been here in the hospital my platelet count has been going up and I should be healthy to play in a few weeks. The doctors have cleared me to walk around a bit but I am unable to perform a show or travel right now. They will know more in a day or two but I want everyone to know that we will do our very best to come back soon to play any dates we are unable to play on this tour.
Thank you,
Love Jonathan.
