Slayer Album Cover Art, Track List Revealed

Warner Music Germany has uploaded what appears to be the cover artwork for the new SLAYER album, tentatively due on July 25 via American Recordings/Warner Bros. Records. You can check it out at this location (or here).
SLAYER's still-untitled follow-up to "God Hates Us All" is the group's first new album with their four original members since 1990's "Seasons in the Abyss". In a recent interview with MTV, SLAYER frontman Tom Araya said about the new album, "It's fast — maybe faster than anything we've done before. No one's going to be disappointed. It's going to be brutal."
The following songtitles are expected to appear on the new SLAYER CD (NOTE: This information has not yet been confirmed by the band or their record label):

As previously reported, a 10 sec snippet of a new SLAYER track, entitled "Cult", is available at the band's official web site. It also says that you can hear "Cult" on slayer.net and itunes on 06/06/06 @ 6:06AM.

Well the album art is exactly what I would expect from Slayer, the new album is freakin as Brutal as Tom says ( I heard a prerelease of the whole thing pre-mix ). Jihad is the best song and is very pro terrorist from a terrorist point of view, it isnt a sell out to make money but rather a wake up call to all these people who say "fu*k em". The song gives us the POV of what they see and why they do what they do.
This is Classic Slayer and should be looked at as music, not a political statement.

I dunno it looks kinda wierd even unfinished but its better than the god hates cover it just didnt fit the bill when it came to the cover of a slayer album I hope they improve it becuase it needs improvement I also hope they go back to using the wierd old dirty oil painting feel to theyr cover art like they are doing here

Who gives a sh*t about the cover really...I personnaly don't care if they put a picture of ballerina if they feel like it...hey it's f*ck*ng SLAYER...who cares about the darn cover. Slayer don't need a cover art that rock to sell their album. They just need to be SLAYER (and not putting down Paul Bostaph at all, who did a great job, and still does with Exodus) but having Dave back is awsome! SLAYER reign (in blood hehe) ever since my first listen back in 1982.

You are right, you should not jump to conclusions. I wouldn't say I don't care at all about the "art" on their albums, but wathever it might be, I know the music is going to be SLAYER and nothing else. That's what I pay for when I buy albums, not the cover...it is a nice way to express the art of somebody else, not the band. Expect for a few exceptions like Mr. Rob Zombie.

why do they always go to the no chist thing. They have already writtin about that in god hates us all. so why go back there. I would like them to go back to seasons and make more music like that. This sounds like it is writen by a 16 yr old with no woman. And the work looks like it could have been done by a first yr graphics student. I did the kind of stuff in Jr high. not now. I can do way better stuff then that. Thats why I have my own cover design biz, and low rates too. But dont get me wroung I still like Slayer but i didn't see where they r going now a days . I hope the rest of the cd is better then want i am seeing. I will still give it a listen when it comes out and see. All they do is drop to d and use slightly different riffs for every song. Listen to the solo in raining blood and then listen to korn's re-make of another brick on the wall and then tell me who sucks. How the hell can you say that slayer fans are wannabe rebels when korn fans are the biggest group of wannabe rebels ever. Sorry, I had to get that out of my system. Anyways, the new slayer album will kick ass. I'm glad they are sticking to their older sound, and not trailing off into crapland like Metallica unfortunately did. I'm actually not dissapointed with the album art. I think that there's a lot of cool symbolism in it if you have a basic understanding of the christian religion. Maybe, bear with me, the bodies in the bloody water are Jesus' disciples (if there were 12, anyways). The figure in the middle is obviously Jesus with the thorns on his head. I can't quite tell what is falling in the background, but it almost looks like an old airplane or something. I have no idea what the hot air balloons are, so maybe I'm just crazy thinking that there's hinden symbolism, maybe i've just seen the davinci code too many times, but that would be a cool slayer-like thing to do. -666
