Opeth have posted a 3-minute clip from their gig at the Close-Up Festival in Stockholm, Sweden on April 16th. Check out the clip at this location (4.1MB).

Opeth's latest album, "Ghost Reveries," has recently been nominated for the fourth annual Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards under the category Album of the Year. The awards this year will take place on Monday, June 12 at Koko in Camden, North London.

Great band Imho. Very consistant. Every albums a classic in my opinion. I think the injection of melody is part of the reason this band is so great.

Their a boring act to catch live because the music is pretty hard to play, demanding stuff if you play an instrument, so theres not much flailing about going on. The drummer is hands down one of the best in metal. No two albums sound alike and you can actually understand Ackerfeldts death vox.

Oops I forgot, 7 is right though too many bands want to be melodic. It works for some bands but not all. I think it works for Opeth as long as they stay heavy.
