XM Liquid Metal Is Back On Satellite Radio
On April 17th at midnight EDT, XM Liquid Metal resumed broadcasting on channel 42. This was part of 10 new channels by XM in a push to be the satellite radio provider with the highest amount of commercial-free music channels, since they are no longer able to claim 100% commercial free music. XMLM re-launched by playing a montage of angry callers and the first song was Slayer-Payback. Ward Cleaver returned to XMLM along with Boneyard DJs Manny and Coolguy.
The current line-up is as follows:
Ward Cleaver (Noon)
Manny (3-7 PM)
Coolguy (7 PM-Midnight)

Yeah, I think someone who had ownership stake in a group of channels decided to start playing commercials. I don't recall for sure, but I remember hearing something like that.
I was actually considering getting XM radio when I first got my new CR-V that is XM-ready Then they dropped Liquid Metal a month or two later. Now that it's back, I've switched jobs and have no commute, so what's the point? I just listen to my hundreds of CDs on my computer and ocasional online metal radio...

I got XM for the MLB games while I'm at work, and LM is definately an added bonus. They don't play commercials but they do "station identification" every other song for about the length of a song which gets really annoying.
plus they play too much gay metal, but it beats mainstream radio.

I like 'em both. Hard Attack plays out too much trivium and COB. They need to play some old COB, mix it up. That would be awsome! Beyond the pit is cool, Contact High is cool, over all hardattack-27 is a pritty good metal station. They do play a lot of the same songs every hour though.XMLM, I haven't heard it sense they took it off the xm programming back in Feb '05. but back then, they played some pritty brutal stuff in the day time, Nicrephagiast, Morbid Angel, six Feet Under, Sepultura, I don't have xm anymore so I can't talk sh** about Liquid Metal. At least theirs 2 metal stations out there to listen to, if you have the money, in my opinion, it's worth every dime. F U K C old time radio. Howard's ok, gets boring after a while, Sirius stays on in my car everywhere i go.

To the Sirius fans who are complaining about XM's metal played, you were probably listening to the other stations which LM was OFF the air. I've heard enough of it now to know that there's not much radio-friendly stuff on Liquid Metal. They have at least two other decent metal stations that do play some more mainstream metal though (modern and 80s/90s respectively)

sirius 27 hard attack and xm liquid metal are both pretty damn good metal stations. the last two songs i heard on xm were by mindgrinder and blood red throne. hard attack plays way to much of the big six( i call them) pantera, black sabbath, slayer, anthrax, megadeth, and iron maiden. yeah i know they are great bands but get a little f***in variety in there. i cant listen to hard attack for more than 30 minutes and i hear pantera or some sh** that was made before i could sh** on a toilet!

Wasn't the selling point of satellite radio to be commerical free? Now they are playing commericals?
