Velvet Revolver Collaborating With Pharrell Williams

Jonathan Cohen and Susan Butler report for Billboard.com: Despite rumors that Velvet Revolver members Slash and Duff McKagan will rejoin Guns N' Roses for a summer tour, the group is actually at work on its sophomore RCA album with an unlikely collaborator: uber hip-hop producer Pharrell Williams.
Williams is also working with Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland on a song titled "Happy," which will likely appear on Weiland's second solo album. Williams confirmed the projects with Billboard.com but did not reveal additional details.
"With the first record, it was kind of a feeling out process on a technical level," Weiland told Billboard.com in December. "We were sort of bonded by blood in a sense, because we'd gone through very similar circumstances. On this record, I have a real concept in mind. Because of that, it will be a very album-oriented record instead of a singles-driven record."

I'm confused about this hip hop producer collaborating with VR. I recently read an interview about Slash saying he didn't understand the hype behind Korns music. Now he has this hip hop producer collaborating on VR's new CD ?
And Korn's new CD is a " Concept " CD also. Instead of bringing back a 60's trend with concept albums why can't they be more creative and start something new? I bought VR's first CD. I listened to it once.. its been collecting dust ever since. Out of all those auditions for a lead singer they picked Scott? I'm not too worried though..VR has only sold 2 million copies of their first CD since '04..So I'm not alone with my opinion.

Maybe it's just Pharell getting his "rock on" like he did in that sh**ty N.E.R.D band he had going....Pharell is known for being a hit generating machine this "album oriented" rant is bullsh**.
This band just wants more "Sour Girl", "November Rain", "Creep" and "Paradise City"....Those aren't just f***ing gone, they're a dot on the horizon.....Don't get me wrong though, I'd love to see these guys actually make something else considered classic and timeless...I just think their batteries are dead....
meh....
I still think Weiland could kick Axl's a$$ in a fight though....

Their batteries are dead. I think Gnr peaked at APD, And STP wound down at Tiny Little music box. Their No 4 CD wasn't bad. I also think that all that " H " tore up Weiland's voice. Axl lost it too. When Weiland does deliver that a$$ beating, I'm afraid it will set Axl and his " Chinese Democracy " back another 10 years...And some people out there will still be waiting to hear it!

Thats disgusting, pure and simple.
Velvet Revolver were the first band i saw live and now i am completly embarassed to be a fan.
This hip hop d...head should not mess with any form of rock. This proves that Guns N Roses may be the best option for Slash, Duff n Matt............. (thats not even a good option).
SLASH IS STILL ONE OF MY FAVOURITE GUITARISTS EVER.
R.I.P. DIME

Damn! Some of you are so closed minded! How many of you have done production?!!? Pharell is a good producer and will make great sounding tracks-and they won't sound like Hip Hop...
Where the hell where you when G n R covered 'Word Up"??? That sh** sucked and so did Korn's because they didn't know how to produce it. Pharell would at least make it sound good...
...and Bubzy-your FIRST concert was VR?!!? What are you, 12??! You're something I could have left in a condom.
Damn, people, open your f***ing ears!!!

NO DENYING PHARRELL's ABILITY.However just because he does well with Hip Hop & top 40 does not mean he's gonna excel at Rock.True indeed he is a HIT MACHINE.You can't take that from him.But he might have bit off more than he can chew here.I realize he get's paide somewhere in the area of 5 hundred thousand to 1 million per song.(due to the outrageous success of Gwen Stephanies solo album)But look who his primary audience on that was.Sure he sucked in alot of Hip Hop fan's but she would have done that on her own.(HIP HOP & AMERICAN PUNK both rose out of the same area's of new york city and bar's like CBGB.So they go hand in hand believe it or not)Hell alot of Hip Hopper's consider No Doubt to be Hip Hop or atleast some sort of strange off shoot.Don't ask me how ? The point is He could all to easily be the wrong guy for the job. It's got nothing to do with Wielend. They all had to agree for it to happen. I think VR's got alot going for it but this is nut's.
OH YEAH !......
EMO=FAG .......EAT A d***...As a HIP HOP / METAL / ROCK / PUNK / FUNK / JAZZ fan I don't remember insulting you a$$hole ! Till now that is. now grow up.

As for Pharrell, I don't see nothin wrong with tryin to do rock. But damn, u could have picked a better band. If Rick Rubin can produce for people like Eazy-E and Jay-Z, and then put Slayer, the only metal band on his list, and come out on top, good for him.(Not that I listen to jay-z and E). Does anyone remember that?

GET THE f*** OUT OF OUR METAL WORLD YOU PIECE OF sh** AND GO BACK TO THE HOOD WITH YOUR HOMIES. man i will never let a f***ing artist outside my genre work with me if i had my metal band, cuz it will my reputation or whatsoever.
