f*** YOU ALL who doubt Avenged Sevenfold!! They have worked their way to the tops playing music how they want whether or not it will f*** up their fan base! They love to play and they are f***ing amazing at it! Avenged Sevenfold puts on the best live show, and they fit so many likings to different genres!!! M. Shadows has an amazing voice, Zacky plays rhythm like none other and is the crestive mind behind them, Synny has the guitar picking so f***ing down he could beat f***ing Allah in battle with his guitar, Johnny Christ may be young but he keeps a kick a$$ beat to die for on the bass, and last but certainly not least The Reverend Tholomew Plague who can drum so fast and smooth he should rub all of your d***s in the dirt for talking sh**!!!! Try listening to Pinkly Smooth with Synny on lead guitar and The Rev A.K.A. Rat Head as lead singer with his awesome voice!!! You all know that this is the sh** that will take over the scene and you'll have to get used to it sooner or later because A7X will never die and they won't leave you f***ing p***ies!!!!!!!!! ROCK ON A7X!!!!! ZACKY VENGEANCE IS A GOD!!!!!!!!

I had never heard this band so I decided to download a song, being that I wanted to judge for myself. The song was Unholy Confession. I had to laugh listening to the first thirty seconds because of the UTTER MELODIC METAL CLICHE I was hearing. I could literally tab it out in my head it was so bad, it was a lame attempt at what At The Gates mastered in 1995. I laughed at the drumming to because of the comparison again to ATGs Adrian Erlandsson . From then it was all what I expected, clean melodic chorus, blah blah, breakdown bit, blah blah. Their was only one cool vocal part at 40 second in and thats it.
From what Tyler Pancake posted about their individual talent I can see he needs some major education in metal.

Well firstoff horrible song to release a video for, Probably one of the two worst songs on the album. But i used to say they sucked too BUT then i started listening to the other tracks, and trust me, none of these guitar solo's are easy, and i used to think the drumming was all double bass like your common metalhead, but you listen to it more, and places it in weird spots in the rhythm which is amazing to my head. Band has great talent, but they picked a horrible song to do a video on, had it been my choice it wouldve been Seize The Day, or The Wicked End

Cynic....ok first off Unholy Confessions is one of the best songs that has been written by the group. You may have judged that to your "metal" likings but personally i feel A7X has left the metal scene, so if you can open your mind outside of the metal genre and judge it as others would then maybe you could come to your senses. Think of it this way.....A7X is a young band, and that was their second CD "Waking The Fallen", not counting their demo debut. Try hearing the music they produce now...I completely agree with badassfmdrummer when he says there is amazing drums, and fery fine guitar riffs! If your so f***in succesful then you play the sh** and send me a f***in demo!!!! But for you metal lovers get their first CD " Sounding The Seventh Trumpet", that is the sh** for metal......AMAZING for right out of high school!!!!!!! Go f***in tune your ears with a dirty d*** you c*** loving p***y....who the f*** are you to judge them??? GOD DAMN I'M p***ed!!!!!! Hey sevenchurches....ARE THEY p***ies??? They are so f***in ripped!!!!! your a dumbasss....go fall off of the EARTH!!! ROCK ON A7X!!!!! I LOVE ZACKY!!!!!!!

I would send you a tape but I have had problems recording lately. Trust me, I went straight to my guitar and could tab the first riff out from ear. I don't come to www.metalunderground.com to open my mind to other genres. I'm sure this guy is a better guitarist than me but the song was lacking totally in originality, like one big faux metal cliche. And Muhammed Suicmez writing Necrophagist material at 18, now that is amazing.
Seriously, go buy Slaughter Of The Soul by At The Gates and you will see where those riffs came from, only way better. (even though I prefer their original stuff)

i personally thought that this song and seize the day were the worst on the album. every other song kicked a**, all had amazing guitar and drums, i liked the change up in the singers voice, its alot different from the previous 2 albums but i liked it. they probably should have done a video on burn it down, the wicked end, or trashed and scattered

i think it's a great song, but the intro got cut at the beginning and the end of the song. i think the intro kind of makes the song, so it kind of sucks that it was cut. the thing i'm having a hard time with is all that f***ing makeup. it's too much of a gimmic for me. i don't understand that image. i hope they lose that soon.

21. writes:
i think its a pretty sweet video despite the wierd makeup, but ya i wouldnt have chose that song, in my oppinion thier other album "waking the fallen" was a f*** of a lot better, and i liked matts voice on that album too when he actually sang sang (such as i wont see you tonight part 1) but now on thier new album city of evil, his voice sounds hoarse and kinda wierd, and the music itself has become more mainstream sounding and poppish, but i gotta love the drums no matter what, and as well i think synister gates is a decent guitarist while soloing (not the best but still pretty good compared to most crap nowadays) but ya for anyone who wants to judge them by just this one song i suggest listening to some of thier older stuff such as "eternal rest" or "i wont see you tonight part 2" and it will give you a little better taste of them it might not be the most amazing sh** youve ever heard but its a hell of a lot better than "beast and the harlot" which to me sucked, but listen to those songs suggested and if you still dont like them then fine, im not gonna force you to like them, i just dont want you jumping on the dissing bandwagon just because this one song sucked.

22. writes:
I really like the new video, I thought it was pretty cool. I think they are a very talented band, they are also all very cute. I listend to all their cd's and personally don't think they have any bad songs I like them all and as for the makeup it's just the way A7X like express themselves..............A7X is a bad a** band love them. A7X keep doing what you love you guys are the great at it.

23. writes:
yes! avenged sevenfold. ohmygosh you guys they like totally rule and stuff, and i just love them.....F*CK that sh**. ya'll sound like some p*ssy mtv fags, they have to be one of the gayist bands around. F*ckin gothic wannabe's. oh were so cool cause we wear all black and makeup and have a lip ring...please, saying these guys are metal is like saying garth brooks is hardcore. F*ckin p*ssies

26. writes:
the thing that really impresses me about these guys is the concept of the album being an entire piece of art. city of evil, and waking the fallen both follow a theme throughout from start to finish, and i think great musical arrangements throughout as well. i always liked the idea of concept albums. those were so big back in the sixties and seventies, but the music industry doesn't seem to care about that anymore which is a shame.

Honestly, the first thing that drew me to the band was Matt Shadows' sexyness. Shallow to say, but after I heard his voice, the lyrics, and the way they put their music together, I became a fan. My favorite song is Burn It Down. I listen to it whenever I'm angry and it doesn't exactly help (it makes me madder, i just know its ok then) but its really kewl. Go A7X! I got the c.d., City of Evil, I looove it. Beast and the Harlot kick a$$ too. ; )

Last words....why is any too heavy to be played on alternative radio automatically dubbed metal? They aren't metal, maybe hardcore. When they first started some of it was punk/hardcore. I don't maybe just me I don't see the metal. When I think of metal I think of specific genres. To me saying I like metal means I like anything from grindcore, thrash, death, black metal. To just be called metal I sort of expect the band to play some of the subgenres at least to be called metal.

41. writes:
yeah cause we're all idiots for making fun of A7X.......actually, i think the only idiots here are the ones who actually think this band has talent. so f*cking what that there guitar players have good solos, that dosent make up for the good charllotte looking lead fag they have as a vocalist who totally kills his band. screw these little gothic wannnabe lookin queers. the picture at the top of this thread says it all. GAY!! the dude paints his nails...yeah, thats really manly.

44. writes:
Tyler Pancake, you would buttf*** every band member in this band if they asked you to. The way you talk about them sounds like you know where everyone of them lives/sleeps/ and what time they wake up. its ok to be in love with a band, just the way your talkng..idk..its creepy...
as for A7X, i USED to like them until this recent release made me less happy...
CRADLE OF FILTH > A7X
^nobody deny it, because its true

i love the lyrics. they are metaphorically amazing and the way m.shadows expresses himself is from his heart and you can hear it in his voice.
it is repeatedly said, they do what they do because they love it and it is beautiful that they have successfully succeeded were so many people wish they could.
you cannot deny their originality. of course there will be some things that sound familiar, everyone has infleuences its all about how you blend it together to make your own sound, categories are so limiting.
in conclusion, i happen to love avenged sevenfold and think they have to ability to continue to rock the fck out. if it's not for you, turn off the radio/televison and don't log into these sorts of websites. morons. ; )
btw. i'm currently in love with mr. vengeance, but this is in no way infleuenced by how much i enjoy their music. promise. :D

I recently saw A7X live in Austin...I didn't really care about seeing them, but I'd heard about an opening band they had with them (Bullets and Octane) and wanted to check them out. A7X was soulless. They may as well have been playing to an empty room for all of the interaction they had with the crowd. It was hard to watch their show and think about music...all I could think about was "money, money, money". They sounded good in the way that ANYONE would sound good if they had the right amount of cash backing them up. The highlight of their show was when they covered "Walk" from Pantera. How sad is it when they best thing I can say about your show was that you did a good cover?
