Disturbed Frontman Posts 'Cribs' Segment Online
DISTURBED frontman David Draiman's six-minute MTV's "Cribs" segment which originally aired on Wednesday, January 25 has been made available for download at this location (Windows Media, 30 MB).
In a recent interview with Jolene of Seattle's 99.9 KISW, Draiman spoke about why he agreed to do the "Cribs" show and how he approached the shoot, which took place late last year.
"I jump back and forth between Chicago and L.A., but the [house] I did it at was the one in L.A.," he said. "To be honest with you, I wasn't really all that about doing it — we're not about showing what we've got. It's just not about 'bling' for us. Like they came to the house and they wanted me to use all the standard terminology and like say, 'These are my whips,' and ridiculous nonsense like that. And I didn't wanna use any of the stupidity and I tried to make it more about my friends than me. I had a party at the house and I just kind of made it a little bit more vibey and not all about that, 'Look, all these cool things I have.' To be honest with you, it's probably the only visibility we're gonna get on MTV."

i think (ie hope) people have stopped caring about what david has to say anymore. couldv been a great singer, but he totally chose the wrong genre of music to pursue. and i REALLY hope he never says anything along the lines of "i get an erection on-stage" again. like, serious. really. i'm pretty accepting, but that's just odd.

You guys are such idiots. You sit here on your high horse because you think you're into all this underground sh**. Why give a f*** if they've been on cribs? Why give a f*** if they have a platinum albun? You're all just sitting there, intent on hating a band just because they've got themselve some media exposure. Its childish. Really, really childish.

Once, while doing a shoot for "Walker, Texas Ranger", Chuck Norris happened upon a dieing lamb. Chuck Norris then embraced the lamb, and the contact with his beard instantly healed it. Once a group gathered in amazment, Chuck proceded to snap the lambs neck, showing that "Chuck giveth, and Chuck taketh away"
As for Disturbed, it's not that I care about their media exposure, I like Cradle of Filth and they get their share of news (not as much as Disturbed, of course). It's just that...
Disturbed f***in sucks the a$$ of a million were-midgets.

I saw Disturbed in Dallas a few weeks ago. Their sound was excellent. Due to the nature of the last album, I was expecting some anti-Bush, or at least anti-war, messages from DD. Nope. Get this - DD actually led a chant of "USA, USA, USA" and made a comment about visitng an Air Force base in California and seeing a bomber in person. He said "there's something f***ing cool about a plane that can kill so many people". And they also avoided ALL the anti-Bush songs on the latest album except for Deify. He complained about the music scene going soft and homogenous (disparaging some band that "starts with The"), but nothing about the war or Bush.
WTF? Have they gone conservative? Do they want to change focus from their latest album?

Jesus, what a bunch of narcissistic preteen retards, moving right along -
Desa: Well he was raised in Chicago and judging from past comments and the beginning of the song, I get the feeling he feels betrayed, which means he banked some amount of trust in this sack of sh** administration. I think David is on the verge of a meltdown, these screaming-thrash-bullsh**t-"Metal" loving idiots here can hate on Disturbed all they want, but David is one of the most talented singers in Metal, and he's obviously miserable, their latest tours have been off the wall with odd behavior from him, and he's obviously mad or frustrated with something he isn't making public, I hope he sorts it out and brings us another evolutionary album like Believe, but it seems the news just gets worse the more I hear.
