As I Lay Dying Premiere New Single & Music Video "The Cost To Stay" From Upcoming New Self-Titled Album

As I Lay Dying have premiered the third single titled “The Cost To Stay” from their forthcoming self-titled studio album, streaming via YouTube and Spotify for you now below.
The new offering finds the metalcore outfit’s controversial frontman Tim Lambesis reflecting on the song’s underlying message:
“‘The Cost To Stay‘ is about realizing that sometimes the life you’re trying so hard to hold together is the very thing you need to leave behind. For a long time, I confused endurance with strength, compromising until I was losing pieces of myself just to avoid conflict.
Eventually, I had to recognize my own part in that cycle and accept that real change meant being willing to start over, even knowing there would be consequences.
From the outside, that can look like everything falling apart. But sometimes walking away is the first step toward building something healthier. That willingness to change, rather than keep repeating the past, is a big part of the perspective behind this new As I Lay Dying album.”
The accompanying music video, featured below, was directed by Tom Flynn, whose previous credits include Hatebreed and Silvertomb. The band's upcoming record is slated to arrive on February 5 and marks their first new release since Lambesis once again reconstructed the lineup, this time starting entirely from scratch. The latest overhaul followed yet another round of controversies surrounding Lambesis.
As I Lay Dying will embark on a U.S. tour later this month, wrapping up their “Shadows Are Security” 20th anniversary performances with support from The Curse Within:
