Mike Browning (Nocturnus AD, Ex-Morbid Angel & More) Dies At 62

Mike Browning, the veteran drummer/vocalist and co-founder of influential death metal band Morbid Angel, has passed away at the age of 62. Browning was a member of Morbid Angel from 1983 to 1986 before going on to perform with numerous other projects over the following decades, including Nocturnus, Nocturnus AD, After Death, Acheron, Atlanta, GA-based Incubus and more.
Profound Lore Records confirmed his passing earlier today, sharing the following tribute:
“RIP death metal legend/sci-fi death metal godfather Mike Browning of Nocturnus/Nocturnus AD. Journey beyond the gateway to the outer void!
‘Before Christ – I ruled the land
After Death – I will rule once again'”
Morbid Angel also honored their former bandmate, stating:
“R.I.P Mike, thanks for helping making all this happen.
Our condolences to his family & especially his daughter.”
