In a newly released four-minute New Year’s Day video, legendary heavy metal guitarist Tony Iommi reflected on the past year and shared a glimpse of what lies ahead in 2026. The year 2025 proved bittersweet for the Black Sabbath guitarist, highlighted by his widely publicized reunion with the band’s original lineup for a final farewell performance last July. That livestreamed, star-studded event marked a historic sendoff, but it was followed weeks later by the passing of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne.

Alongside addressing that loss, Iommi also touched on several other notable moments from the year, including the Black Sabbath ballet, his collaboration with Robbie Williams, and more. He also noted that a documentary centered on his life and career is currently in development through Gibson.

Notably, Iommi also revealed in the clip that his long-anticipated third solo studio album is finally slated for release sometime in 2026, stating:

“I shall have definitely, definitely my solo album out. And I’m really looking forward to that. I’m enjoying doing it, and it’s been great fun, and I really hope you enjoy it.”
