Spirit Adrift Premiere New Standalone Single "Eternal Celestial Energy"

Doom metal band Spirit Adrift have released a new standalone single titled “Eternal Celestial Energy” streaming via YouTube and Spotify for you now below.

Frontman Nate Garrett offered a brief explanation of the song, stating:

“I can’t speak too much on this song, other than to say it’s probably the heaviest thing I’ve ever written, both sonically and emotionally. It was extremely difficult to make, but hopefully it will resonate with people who need some catharsis.”

Nate Garrett of Spirit Adrift and his family have endured an extremely difficult year. In July 2025, Garrett revealed that his wife Nicole had been diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer, and her battle with the disease remains ongoing.

According to a new update shared Monday, March 9th through her GoFundMe campaign, the couple recently encountered another setback after their healthcare provider, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, denied coverage for a planned HIPEC treatment intended to help fight the illness.

Nate said in that update:

“Hello everyone,

2 weeks before Nicole was scheduled to receive cutting-edge HIPEC treatment (description at the bottom of this update), Blue Cross – Blue Shield has denied the treatment.

Because of Blue Cross Blue Shield’s denial of this coverage, the plan moving forward has been drastically altered. Nicole will now receive 6 more rounds of chemotherapy directly into her peritoneal cavity. This means she/we will have to travel to Houston and back every 2 weeks starting March 23.

Nicole’s situation is a perfect example of how broken and corrupt the systems are, in a country that’s supposed to be considered first-world. We all already knew it, but this is absolute proof of the predatory, frankly evil practices of insurance companies. Nicole works for one of the largest corporations in the country, and her job is at the corporate level. And still her insurance denied potential life-saving treatment. It’s a tragedy that something like GoFundMe even has to exist, but without it, many average working-class Americans like us would be doomed.
