Savage Lands have just unveiled a new music video for their track “Ruling Queen”, featuring a guest appearance from Arch Enemy vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. The band, led by Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth, etc.) and Sylvain Demercastel, functions as both a musical project and an artist-run environmental non-profit, with a significant portion of their profits going toward conservation efforts in Costa Rica and beyond.
Savage Lands' star-studded debut album, Army Of The Trees, is set for release on February 15th via Season Of Mist.
White-Gluz shared her thoughts on collaborating with the band:
“Art and activism converge in a space of meaning, and that is where I choose to stand. Metalheads have always been powerful and passionate people in my eyes. I hold deep gratitude for Savage Lands and their relentless work in safeguarding the fragile beauty of Costa Rica’s ecosystem.”
Obituary guitarist Kenneth Andrews also contributed to the track and shared his thoughts on the experience, telling:
“It has been my pleasure and honor to be part of this unbelievable project. Let’s do our part!”
Verbeuren shared his thoughts on White-Gluz lending her voice to the track, stating:
“Obviously, it’s great when Savage Lands receives support from a huge star like Alissa, but that she also buys into the philosophy behind our organization makes it even better.”
