i love korn but i would have to agree there last cd sucked and kmadd is sort of right korn is'nt really metal i don't even consider them nu-metal there like alternative rock or something but kmadd makes them out to be a pop boy band which is far from the truth.
At first i thought korn could survive heads absence but now im not so sure.

korn would like to apoligise for not being 'real metal' enough for 'Rulin Kmadd'... i'm pretty sure their last Album, 'Take a look in the Mirror' was quite a heavy.... F U C K I N G M E T A L release.
maybe i thought that because i actually listened to the A L B U M.... you should try it sometime Rulin!
that is if you can stop listening to your real metal for an hour or so.
I think Terry Date will help them step up to the plate.... so they'll sound great

"TALITM" had good songs....I repeat "good", but nothing out of the ordinary like their early stuff or even bold like "Untouchables".......
My advice to anyone who wants to gauge how good or bad lyrics are by any band is this!
Read the lyrics in a silent room, out loud, to yourself (and by yourself)....
Don't have the album playing, no distractions.
If you cant be honest with yourself, who can you be honest with?
If a phrase, or verse or even an awkward word or sylable makes you flinch.....(or giggle)
----IT IS BAD!----
"Take a look in the Mirror" made me flinch alot.

Yeah "Issues" put some of Korns best riffs forward but not much else....They didn't get alot of time to work after "Follow The Leader" to make that one....As I've said I'm taking a wait an see stance with the next record, a friend or two of mine are much more likely to pick it up than I will be.
I'll hear Korn out one last time before I make a judgement call.

my personal opinion and i know you guys are gonna rip the f*** out of me
KORNS FIRST 3 ALBUMS ARE THEIR WORST....THATS RIGHT I SAID IT I LOVE ISSUES I LOVE TAKE A LOOK IN THE MIRROR. I do like the first and some of follow the leader but i fukkin hate peachy nothing on that album sounds good except good god and twist i just think they have gradually gotten better since the second album

Your entitled to your opinion, other people may attack it but I wont. Life is Peachy was missing something in my opinion but some Korns brightest moments were on that one.
"Mr Rogers", the vox come straight from the gut on that track, theres some real anger there.
"Twist" is entertaining, I dont care who you are. Some like it for being heavy and nonsensical, I liked it because it seemed sincere and kind of funny.
Instrumentally "Good God" conjures the image of a p***ed off warthog. Interesting and varied vocals.
And "Wicked" and "Adidas" were full of bravado, no angst no moping.....kind of mindless and silly but good for those reasons.

pet shop boys were good !!!
anyway... i think 'untouchables' was okay, but for the multi-million dallar album that it was, it was a little disappointing... but i think it was an album they needed to get out of the way before Take a Look in the Mirror. I think you'll find TALITM was quicker to make, cost a lot less and korn actually played more than two songs off that album live.
Hopefully Head talks to Jon about his lyrics, but you can't knock his singing though.... its kick a$$

I've liked Korns first 2 albums since I was 14....."Follow the Leader" was O.K.....but DID NOT live up to the hype.
"Issues" had some of Korns best riffs EVER!!!! but the lyrics sucked SOOO much it hardly mattered.
"Untouchables" was VERY bold but there was still only 4 good tracks "Here to stay", "Hollow Life", "Thoughtless", and "Alone I break".......hardly metal, but impressive stuff by Korn standards.
"Take a look in the Mirror" only had the singles...."Did My time" and "Right Now"....it's rare that I support a bands singles (often it's the songs that never see radio that are best, but on this album it's all Korn had to offer).....this album was 75% rubbish.
I wish Korn all my luck on their next cd but I didnt even pick up "Take a Look in the Mirror" or their greatest hits package because they were so terrible....
We'll see what happens, but holding my breath would be suicide.

this is the funniest sh** since I watched my two little nieces escalate from calling eachother "meanie" on up to "poo poo head".....
Will you guys chase eachother with plastic baseball bats at some point too? this is funny stuff.....The only reason you guys are posting is to get back at eachother. Classic!

the infamous korn threads.
we have gaymadd the korn bashing homo venting his frustrations on anyone that will listen.
we have the know-it-all's that profess that korn used to be good but now sucks due to a decline in music quality.
we have the hype men (especially blackdog) who do nothing but encourage the mass amounts of lame insults but don't actually have anything to say. example: (post 49: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!") how very insightful of you blackdog.

The only thing unclassic is the nu-metal fa**ots like you that come in here and defend
these nerds that dont have a clue anyway on what real metal is all about. So tell me
something Slappy what other than record sales has these bands like korn, Lp,
Pissturd and all those top 40 bands done for the metal community. Btw sir gallahad
what is the name of this website. Korn is not that is my arguement.

Kmadd dude, ....calm....... your acting like that guy actually got under your skin. Thats as bad as conceding defeat.....
Anyway, since I'm a know-it-all let me share this tidbit with post 56.
Korn are on their way to being as over the hill as Motley Crue. Korn had something to offer but they, like a gallon of milk in death valley, have outlived their expiration date (see also Rollingstones, Aerosmith, Hopefall, Googoo dolls *once quite the punk act*....and with some regret Megadeth and Metallica).
They aren't producing the quality they once were. They still deserve respect for the walls they moved or crushed underfoot BUT by "growing", "changing", "taking the mature high road", "selling out" or "losing the fire in their belly" they cease making anything innovative.
Korn cater to a dwindling fan base, in part because of failure to match the lyrics, the musical tenacity and errie atmospherics of earlier works. Also they are the pioneers of genre thats mostly on life support (SOAD, Mudvayne and Slipknot remain potent in the face of todays sh**ty garage and dance-pop rock.)
Unlike Kmadd I really would like to see Korn succeed but it's been almost 10 years since Korn really turned my head. Korn need to retire if this album fails. Period.

62. writes:
i agree with much of your post although the last sentence has flawed logic. korn is not going to stop making records because they are not as commercially succesful as they once were. you know why all these guys keep playing ? because they love to create music and the music they are creating is exactly what they want to be doing. same goes for every other over-the-hill band that still keeps playing (ozzy, sabbath, priest, maiden). basically when you say "if this album fails", i really dont think there is a way that this album could fail in their mind. their career is made, these next albums don't have to live up to any expectations. they controlled just about every single production aspect of this cd without the direction of a label so its exactly what they want to put out and therefore couldn't be a failure. korn has a dwindling, yet extremely loyal fanbase who is gonna watch 'em ride it out.
and kornfan94, quit satisfying the ego of this extremely frustrated little boy by replying to his garbage.

any shred of maturity and/or logic deserves to be thrown out the window concerning korn:
they suck, have sucked, will continue to suck, and the music is pretty bad too.
so why you guys beat off to the closest thesaurus smoking pipe tobacco and blasting korn just know this...
the new nevermore cd rips an abundance of tits
