Static-X On Tapping Former Seether Drummer
Launch Radio Networks reports: The new STATIC-X album, "Start a War", features the recording debut of former SEETHER drummer Nick Oshiro, who joined the group on its tour in support of 2003's "Shadow Zone". STATIC-X frontman Wayne Static told Launch that Oshiro's abilities as a live drummer had an impact on the making of "Start a War" as well. "This is actually the first record where we didn't try to fix the drums in the computer or anything like that," he said. "We just recorded the drums with the band, playing live, and the drums are what they are. There's no samples, there's no straightening things out, and I think this record has a real, sort of live STATIC-X feel to it because of that."
"Start a War" arrived in stores on June 14.
STATIC-X has added a batch of new shows to its current tour with AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE and BLOODSIMPLE. New dates include:
Jul. 24 - Rockford, IL - Forrest Hills Lounge
Aug. 04 - Atlantic City, NJ - House Of Blues
Aug. 05 - Baltimore, MD - Sonar
Aug. 07 - Fort Wayne, IN - Piere's
Aug. 08 - Sauget, IL - Pop's
