Avenged Sevenfold's "City of Evil" Debuts at #30 On the US Billboard 200

AVENGED SEVENFOLD's "City of Evil" has sold 32,974 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 30 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart.
The group's third album, "City of Evil" (Warner Bros.) is the follow-up to 2003's "Waking the Fallen" (Hopeless Records), which has shifted 172,253 units to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD are scheduled to take part in this summer's Vans Warped Tour beginning on June 18 in Columbus, Ohio.

I think not. I've been to 3 A7X shows and they were f***ing insane. I met The Reverand and chatted with him about drums because I myself am a drummer. I had a cigarette with M. Shadows. Nice try at trying to be smart or "intelligent" but I think I already stated that A7X is not a band to reckoned with. If you really, truely, and honestly believe that virtuoso guitar solos so rightfully and perfectly played by Synester Gates and Zacky Vengence are in any way "Pop-punk" then you have your musical genres crossed there buddy. Granted, they are not Pantera, they are not Faith No More, and they are not Slayer. But jesus christ, for the love of god have some common sence and realize that there are no other bands out there that sound like A7X. Alas, must I ask the same question again? CAN YOU DO ANY BETTER?! A7X is a band that also deserves commendation because they aren't trying to sound like everyone else like The Killers, Snow Patrol, Franz ferdinand and all of those sh**ty a$$ new bands that are trying to be original. A7X is a quality band FOR IT'S OWN TIME but when you compare them to the metal greats like Iron Maiden, Pantera, Dream Theatre, and others like them, they stand no chance.
It's simple that Avenged Sevenfold is a good band and they play quite well but they are no iron maiden

the reason avenged sevenfold gave up the metalcore soud is because they want to seperate temselves from the the pack . metalcore is becoming increasingly popular and mainstream because of bands like Atreyu. A7X don't want to be part of that anymore.....which i respect them for. they're doing what they want to do, and though they changed their sound, i dont see how they "sold out". they're songs are so long, no radio station is gonna want to play that. and if they truly did sell out, someone explain to me why i still have to go all the way to best buy to buy their cd. i haven't seen it in wal mart or any other department store......

Everything about this album is absolutely incredible....everything that is, except the vocals. Here the singing is just "good", and "good" just doesnt cut it up against the spectacular riffs and impressive beats. This is a major disappointment for me because M. Shadows voice was so awesome on WTF, (and i'm not talking about screams). His singing voice was so deep and powerful it commanded respect. Now it just seems that he's trying to be something he's not....it's like he wants to sound like Axl Rose. Gone almost completely are the James Hetfield comparisons that followed his performance on Waking the Fallen. Either way, the insane instrumentals put WTF to shame, but the vocals are gonna take some getting used to....
