Tonight on Headbanger's Ball, Dave Grohl(to coincide with MTV2's 24 hours of Foo) hosted the Ball. DID THE BEST JOB I'VE SEEN SINCE RIKI RACHTMAN!

Seriously. Ok, They aired a Voivod video, he pops up and actually tells the audience about the song and how it was a Pink Floyd WITH Syd Barrett song originally.

At one point, the Suicide Girls were on talking about their DVD release and what bands were on it. One had mentioned "Yeah, we got alot of metal bands on it, like Glassjaw."

Grohl was like "No, they're not metal. They're more like hardcore."

I disagree with angrystoner about Slipknot being remembered as simply a "gimmick band." People have been saying ever since they came out that they would last 2 years or so and be forgotten. Well, it's been 6 years since they've blown up and they are more popular than ever. Not to mention they've earned the respect of bands like Black Sabbath, Slayer, Metallica, Pantera, In Flames and Lamb of God. And quite frankly, I think those bands have a lot more credibility on what metal bands will last than some kid like you on a message board.
