A nameless woman has filed suit against Kiss' Gene Simmons for his alleged actions during an interview on November 01st, 2017. According to the suit, the woman is a "longtime on-air personality for a local rock station." The alleged incidents are said to have taken place during an on-camera interview with Gene Simmons and his bandmate Paul Stanley.
The suit levels accusations of sexual battery, gender violence, battery, gender discrimination and more against Simmons and was filed December 15th, 2017 in the Superior Court of California.
Among the plaintiff’s claims are Simmons placing her hand on his knee and holding it there, turning various questions into “sexual innuendos” and some unwanted touching. It further alleges that Simmons touched her buttocks while posing for a promotional photograph. It is stated that all of Simmons‘ alleged advances were repeatedly rebuffed throughout the interview.
Notably the interview took place at the Rock & Brews restaurant location in Highland California - a restaurant chain co-founded in part by Simmons and Stanley. The establishment is also named as a defendant in the case. You can read a copy of the entire suit below.
Simmons for his part has denied the allegations, stating via Facebook:
“Friends,I intend to defend myself against any alleged charges you may have been reading about in the media.
For the record, I did not assault the person making these accusations in the manner alleged in the complaint or harm her in any way.
I am conferring with my lawyers with the aim of vigorously countering these allegations.
And I look forward to my day in court where the evidence will prove my innocence.”
