i think system of a down calmed down a bit in their new album because alot of people didn't like their old stuff so they tries to be neutral.
p.s. if u don't like SOAD then you are a soad.
P.p.s: violent pornography and sad statue are nothing like backstreet boys(incase someone says they are, although noone has yet. because there not,)

Realisticly they'll probably manage platinum in a month or two, second week sales will spell out how quick that happens. But as of now they have a gold record in 7 days..........That is impressive. I dont care which school of metal you align yourself with, they've managed to do something right.
In all seriousness though, most of the bands i love have never sold this many albums in total, to make fun of soad for 'only' moving this many units is kind of like trampling other bands i like better for not having down something similar.
System started in the same place as every other band: With next to nothing but some instruments and a batch of songs. They didnt sell their first album on the strength of a single or label support, they toured relentlessly. To see a band as irregular and strange as soad do this well gives hope to other not so conventional bands.
As far as the disk itself, I find it growing on me. Much the way the first soad album didnt apeal to me right away. It's so angular and helter-kelter but poppy it's a bit disconcerting. Like the first time you hear bands like Dillinger Escape Plan, Deicide, Mr Bungle or Tomahawk. Next to everything else your used to, it sounds like the red headed bastard child of the genre.

I like "Steal" and their debut better than "Toxicity" or "Mez".........but their all good...Not great but quite good.
The instrumentation in itself is fun just for the sake of picking it apart. The lyrics are pretty astute, silly, vicious and even accurate, on all albums. good stuff. but they have yet to put something out that I would file under classic greatness.
It's possible though.

Y THE HELL WOULD SOME f***-ER COME TO THIS SOAD BOARD AND SAY BACKSTREET BOYS ROCK, AND THEN TALK ABOUT SOME STUPID sh** ABOUT BRITNEY SPEARS CRAP AT A f***-ING STORE!............by the way, y do ppl keep calling the new cd," mezmerized '. its actually "mezmerize". its really annoying to see ppl call it that.

Mezmerized?............Yes yes
Well, I think that is normal...not all the people will enjoy the same band....but you could give your opinion without saying stupid things....thinking the answer
About their new cd...I like it...If they change their sound....people criticize them..if they do something like Toxicity....the same :S
I don't found Mezmerize so different than some said...It sound like soad....If you like this band you maybe will prefer another of their cds but you will not despise Mezmerize.
But well....this is only my opinion
PD:Sorry if my english is not so correct

Saw System perform at the Brixton Academy last night...
I was honestly disappointed with their set, they concentrated a little too hard on playing all the new sh** from Mezmerized (which is a f u c k i n g sh i te album by the way) and only threw a couple legendary numbers from their self titled album toward the end. I was was so uninterested, that I was yawning toward the end of the show... Serj must be the most boring f u c k i n g vocalist I've ever seen perform. The show sucked, the performance was b o l l o c k s, the lighting was awful and the sound was pathetic...
WHAT A LET DOWN.... I MISSED SEEING THEM JAM WHEN THEY WERE AT THEIR PEAK!

I hate the new album. You guys really disapointed me with this crap. B.Y.O.B, Vilent Pornagrphy, and Hollywood are the only good ones. To short, not enought tracks. Steal was out and and around for a long a$$ time before this, and they only made like what, 4 1/2 songs. F U C K!
